  1. If you've already coded for import, then coding for export (the more useful and critical of the two functions) must be relatively simple and fast ..

Yes you can do this outside of the app but it's a phaf and not very slick ..

It's like selling a pair of trainers without the laces .. seemingly unnecessary and leaves you feeling a little uncared for ..

As disgruntled ex-Adobe customers we are adopting and investing in the AF platform and they do welcome user feedback  ..you do understand AF wants to be better than Adobe right!?

To clarify DXF export allows you to accurately send logos/artwork to production companies for signage, brand architecture and interior fit-outs ..DXF is the universal standard used by all fabrication companies. It is essential professional workflow.

    > love the trolling comment lmao

  2. Errr.. appreciate your comments but my tone is purposefully playful ..I am a customer after all and I've purchased the full set of AF apps twice.

AF is a fantastic alternative to Adobe's absurd price. This is absolutely not in dispute and we love AF for that reason.

However, so many users have been asking for this incredibly simple function for so long - we thought from the marketing this was a stated feature in v2. It's like the coders/management either misunderstood or overlooked we were specifically asking for 'export'.

To truly be the Adobe killer, we all want, these very basic functions must be included. Please AF 🙏

  3. If Affinity Designer is going to truly compete with Adobe Illustrator it MUST include the VERY BASIC but ESSENTIAL functions: SELECT SIMILAR and DXF EXPORT.

I still cannot believe this program does not have these features.  SSSSoooooooooo many of your customers have requested it, why are you ignoring them!??? Writing the code for these features will be child's play for you surely!!!????

TIME TO GET SERIOUS AFFINITY - include these features and then clean up, it's a WIN-WIN!

  4. Hi Chris, the transform palette options in Publisher are quite basic, I cannot see a percentage value - this is much more useful when scaling objects which regularly comes up in our workflow.

For example: if you have multiple images of different dimensions and/or formats and you want to scale them all to say 50% or 25% of their original size - please see attached screen grab from Indesign to explain this.

Nearly all design software both 2D and 3D has a scale factor function in either 'percentage' or decimal value 'scale up or down by a factor of 1.5 or 0.5' ..surely Publisher has this and I'm just not seeing it!?

  5. Hi, I'm inputing PDF drawings and Jpeg images within frames into my Publisher document (as I would with Indesign) but when I reopen the document after updating some of the files they do not automatically update in the Publisher document - they all appear to be embedded and I cannot find a linked files palette ..am I missing something?

    Thanks

  6. Thank you very much Walt! - I see this is not a feature

I ask because with both Indesign and Quark which is what most people will be coming from to publisher you can simply click 'override master page items' on any page you create to unlock everything and edit as you need to - say for example on the last page only you wanted to remove just one or two elements from your master set this would be a fast and easy way to do it. It would be a good feature to include - it could be listed under the 'apply master' & 'clear master' when you right click on the page thumbnails (left side palette).

Thank you very much for solution to the total page number - this is excellent but in terms of location not logical to find, having this next to Text > Insert> 'Page number' would have been expected. Thank you for all your help!
