I think it's pretty clear that DXF import/export to/from Affinity Designer is probably never going to happen.    This feature has been requested loudly and strongly for 6+ years now and there is the occasional "thinking about it", or "possible in the future" comment from the company, but no action.    If they were going to do it, it would have been done by now.   6 years?!?!   That's longer than the Manhattan project.
Professional engineering applications require this, so apparently that is not their market, otherwise it would have been done long ago.   It's a real shame as I would have happily dropped my Adobe subscription half a decade ago-as I am guessing many others would as well.    I tried forcing myself to use Affinity and PSTOEDIT to do the conversion (from DXF to PDF anyway), but that's only half the problem and adding external tools to the workflow costs time and effort and sacrifices accuracy and quality.
Every 6 months to a year I will check to see if this has been added to the tool, but alas; no.   That Affinity Designer Icon in my apps folder never gets clicked any more.

Got a further update of the Designer on my Mac. Now I'm on 1.9.2. Of course without DXF support as usual. You are doing really an outstanding job in not choosing what features to implement based on forum thread posting counts. The are not many others ignoring community needs as patiently like you do .. well done!

@PurpleFish .. I will try Inkscape next time I have to deal with dxf, thanks for the tip

    1) Who said that features are not worth to pay for .. Make a new major version put the most demanded features in and offer the update for 10-20 bugs. major = significant step forward.
    2) Who has forced you to offer free updates (and especially feature updates not just bugfixes) and create a forum where users can file requests?? By doing so you create expectations. If you can't fulfill them those who are left behind will get frustrated some day. This should not be that huge surprise!
    3) I habe not read anything offending .. just a lot of frustrated users who wait a looooooooooong time for something which is more or less common!
    Works as designed imho!

If it doesn't do what you need it to do it's worthless no matter how cheap it is.

+1 for DXF support. For workflows where I'm exporting drawings out of Fusion360/AutoCAD to laser cut, this is essential. Inkscape doesn't work well on a Mac, and I was ready to go all in with Affinity... but this is holding me back. I can see myself either going with Corel, or virtualizing Windows to use Inkscape, but my future with Affinity's not looking too bright with the current roadmap/dev priorities.

Have seen right now that Corel Draw is now available for MAC .. This changes lot for Mac users and put's Serif under pressure if they don't want to be defined by their license price.

    Hello!
    To confirm:
In the field of architecture, people use Illustrator's DWG/DXF import/export frequently - in the architectural office I work in since recently, it's the same.
DWG/DXF, are industry standards, and will remain so for many years. Implementing those will open the doors to the world of architectural graphics some more - it's in your interest! Don't filter down your target group to graphic designers/illustrators only.
At home, I have replaced Adobe by Affinity. Would love to see this happening in the office, too, one day.
    And forget about PDF workarounds.
    Thanks!!

I am another Corel/Parallels user that would like Affinity to open CDR files.

I think that this is an opportunity to YOU!!!!

I wonder if you know how many users are looking for a solution when migrating to mac?????

    Thank you.
