  1. Title says it all, even when I use the menu "Check for updates." The two other apps updated as normal. This update fail has been going on for weeks.
  2. Currently there is small, medium, and large, but humongous would be nice, about twice the size of large. I would then be able to make the Pages window almost fill the screen and move pages around my textbook by being able to read the titles.
  3. I keep losing my pinned files also. It happens across all three Windows 11 apps.
  4. I see what the problem is now causing unpredictability even though Scroll With View is checked. If the Pages studio tab is not visible, then syncing does not occur until it becomes visible and a navigation occurs. I put Pages and Text Styles in the same studio on the left, so I am back and forth while also navigating.
  5. Thank you for the tip! I had not seen that before, but mine was already checked. I tested it several ways and scrolling happened properly...AFTER I restarted the app. I should have thought of that possibility before... My best explanation is that after a while, (perhaps putting the computer to sleep for the night?) Affinity apps act sluggish like their memory is fragged. That is just my guess, because Task Manager shows memory and drive usage is low and availability is high. I restart and things get better, the sun shines, the birds sing,...!!!
  6. I am editing anchors. I highlight the one to delete, click the garbage can, then the one below it is deleted! To be fair, there usually seems to be a relationship between them, e.g. I renamed the heading in the document, or I totally deleted and recreated. Perhaps the anchor was not deleted/changed when the target was deleted/changed? Either way, there are multiple anchors for the same target and I am trying to avoid duplicates and using the wrong ones for cross references that might unintentionally get left orphaned.
  7. Right now my Page window in the Publisher studio has a thick blue outline around the spread containing pages 4 and 5. I am actually looking at and editing pages 6 and 7, which has a gray and less noticeable outline. Not sure why 4,5 is blue, but I navigated by Ctrl-PgDn through a bunch of spreads to get to 6,7. This out of sync behavior causes me to use Undo a lot, if I catch it in time. Adding pages is sometimes a guessing game as to where they will show up if I am not super careful. Seems like the noticeable blue highlighted thumbnail should always stay in view and in sync with the current page being edited. Sometimes it seems to, but most of the time I need to scroll to find where I am. Not sure of the purpose of the gray outline. If I jump from beginning to end of my book, the thumbnails should do the same. I should ALWAYS be able to see my current editing page's thumbnail in blue in the visible part of the Page window. Thank you for an otherwise great app!
  8. Match All should not need a referback?!! I tried both .* and only a character style and like you did not achieve success. You keep referring to Boost. Researching that, I see it claims Perl support, which makes sense with the help file statement. I am mentioning this because if Boost provides more or less support then maybe the help file needs to be updated to reflect that with better syntax sources? Your \w* workaround is giving me weird results, ie. duplicate replacement strings before and after and in between. It's trying hard!!
  9. My particular file started in 2.0. I was referring to similar regex operations in 1.0. You can verify the issue with the following steps. Start a new file. Paste a bunch of text. Format random spans with a character style, e.g. strong. Check regular expressions in Find dropdown and search for Strong. All of them appear in the results list. Now try to bracket each occurrence with [\&] or [$&] or [$0]. Fail.
  10. This problem appeared in 1.x then was fixed. Now it is back again. I opened a file. Closed it. Moved it. Tried to delete the now empty folder. Failed. Closed Designer 2.04 and could delete folder.
  11. BTW. I left the Find box blank and I put in .* Find results were the same. Replace still did literal, not regex.
  12. 0 syntax didn't work. From the help file -- "Affinity Publisher supports Perl and ECMAScript (with perl extensions) expressions. Regular expressions use the "C" or "POSIX" locale, while Locale Aware Regular Expressions use the locale inferred from the text being searched and locale aware collation is implied." I am a programmer and familiar with using regex. Used it successful in afpub 1.x. Followed syntax on "including www.regular-expressions.info and regexone.com."
  13. The app finds my character-styled spans correctly but ignores \& $& $MATCH and so forth. It inserts them as literals instead of replacing with the entire match. Yes, I selected regex in the Find dropdown. Windows 11. v2.04
  14. @firstdefence Thank you! That was helpful! Very weird, but helpful. Seems like this is a bug? Background: I based the shapes on rounded rectangles then changed them to curves. I solved the TY problem by moving the T just a little bit so that one of the Y nodes got positioned outside the T. Added no problem! I then moved a node on the B similar to your instructions so that it was outside. Added! First time to perform this procedure in v2. Never ran into any problems in v1. Seems like a bug or an unfinished feature if you have fiddle and guess with the positions of the nodes.
  15. Oh wow! I have never seen that option before! That helps and it clarifies!! Thank you!
  16. To @NathanC comment I might add that Character | Typography appears to also be font derived.
  17. Type a M for reference. Then type 1 through 0 and superscript them. Now look at the string in various fonts. In Arial, everything is expected with a big M and all the digits superscripted. In Segoe Print, only the 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, and 8 are superscripted. These are Microsoft fonts, which I expect to be "perfect." (May not be) Other fonts have other unpredictable results. Is this Designer, the font, or both? I thought the app would just take the glyph, shrink it, then raise it, no matter the font, but....?
  18. That 99 page file has grown to 200. I have tried Save As, thinking that might get rid of something in the file itself. Nope. Add a page to the end of the file. Yes. Move it to the beginning. Yes. Add to the beginning = instant vanish. Cut from the beginning then paste to the end = frozen, must use Task Manager. Move a page from the beginning = instant vanish. I'm stuck.
  19. I have a 99 page file. I go back near the beginning and try to insert 1 page in the middle of a spread. Crash! Hard. Publisher disappears. I tried it multiple times. Same results. I then add 2 pages after the spread, no problem. I move the blank pages where I want. No problem. ee-1-4.afpub
  20. In version 1.8.3.641 I have "Remove line breaks" selected in my TOC. However, I use Enter or Shift-Enter to make a line break in my heading and it does not disappear out of the TOC. Refresh makes no difference.
  21. I agree with Nikola and Aammppaa. Preferences is mostly an intellectual mess and takes too many clicks to find the right category. And there are not even that many settings right now. Imagine what will happen as they grow with future versions! Put a simple list of categories on the left that shows the options on the right. One click!
  22. By having this toggle state I can see a 1920x1080 design on my screen at final 1 to 1 size. This would finalize pixel rounding. This would let me see true width of lines, how touching shapes actually overlap or not, etc... Photoshop has this in their Tab toggle states. If one must manually Ctrl+0 to fit to screen that would be fine. Thank you and keep up the great work!
  23. An eps file opened (maybe edited) then closed is not released to the OS. I must close Designer to release the lock. I am running 1.7.3.481. I noticed this in the previous update also.
