As it stands the only interaction with other On1 users is the On1PhotoRAW users facebook group, and the access provided by On1Plus. The user to user forum was quite low traffic and a lot of days I wouldnt look there. I am keeping tabs on AffinityPhoto and if an "open in" or "send to______ after export" is offered I will upgrade to V2. At present I have to save as a PSP and overwrite the imported file. I do want to learn how to get the most out of Photo.

On1 has closed the user to user forum which I think is a dumb move. On1 comms were never brilliant but I do like their software. Looks like facepage will be the main source for fast help.

Use a mask to stop the effect where you dont want it

I think that part of the issue with the UI in On1 is that it is not a part of a desktop publisher like Affinity and as such the procedures are different to Photoshop/Affinity. If you want to do composites then Affinity is a better tool. I have been using On1 for several years now, because Serif dont seem interested in a DAM/Raw editor and my main interest is managing/editing photos. Sometimes I use Affinity Photo and I dont find the UI intuitive because it is not what I am used to. To me the masking/layers and procedures seem very complicated in Affinity, what with 4 different layer types.

borris effects has a lot of film styles BUT it is expensive and wont work as a plug in with Affinity

there has been issues when out of date graphics drivers are used. have a search on1 raw facebook page Good luck, its worth it.

Free and perpetual licence. This plus Affinity Photo is a great combination. If you use the stand alone version you get to use layers, crop etc On1 has a lot of instructional videos and there is stuff on Youtube.

The touch up tools with the free ,until 31 Jan, On1 Effects might help you https://www.on1.com/products/effects/ There might be problems with it auto installing into V2 but you can always do a manual install.

It does bring LUT previews and AI masking into AP workflow. As for the UI it aint perfect and could do with dockable panels like AP, but to each his own, horses for courses etc.

From On1 forum My first thought is that the installer doesn't recognize the newer version of Affinity Photo so it couldn't install the plug-ins. It was looking for V1 and couldn't find it. Just a guess. If you go to the ON1 Effects 2023 folder you'll see a Plug-in Files folder and in it are the actual plug-in files. You should be able to install it manually by putting a COPY of the correct on into the proper AP plug-ins folder. NOTE: This doesn't mean it will work. You'll have to try it and see.

Another thought, Is V1 still installed? And is the plugin installed there?

I have installed this with no issues. This was on V1 Affinity photo.Did Sreng pagna have the option "allow unknown plugins" ticked?

As an On1 user I can say that the sky replacement works very well (usually) The Effects plugin will give AI selection options too

Does V2? I might consider buying if it does. It only claims to be an Adobe plugin but I can use it with no issues from On1photoRAW.

Sorry cant post in the V1 Forum I have installed and run plugins for Photo Topaz Sharpen,De noise, some old Nik Effects and Gmic. Affinity Photo sees the plugin but it will not run. I get a "Channel Ports not available" message and then Affinity hangs and I need to go to Task Manager. Is there a work around or solution? Thanks in advance

Sort of related, I use on1 photoRAW and would like the ability for Affinity Photo to send files to other app after export. I send a file to Affinity from the file menu in on1 as a .psd and get Affinity to save over the file after saving. I still have to manually reload the file into On1 after the edit as a layer.
