  1. Ooh. From the screenshot, it looks as if it has Studio Link 🥳
  2. Apple have just announced the iPad Air 5 today, and the new page for the 5 on Apple’s website actually shows Affinity Publisher running on the new device. https://www.apple.com/uk/ipad-air/ See the section ‘Tons of apps. Tons of fun’ about three quarters of the way down the page.
  3. Just revisiting this topic after my last post a year ago. These functions ARE now working for me in Affinity Publisher 1.9.3 on MacOS 11.3.1 I'm not sure at which upgrade they started working, I just checked today and found that they are.
  4. I wonder if this anything has happened to this issue. I am having the same problem selecting text in Affinity Publisher. If I start selecting text that then goes off the top or bottom of the screen/window, the window would previously have scrolled to follow where my cursor wanted to go. But now it doesn't, I cannot scroll outside the current window position. I'm using Affinity Publisher 1.8.3 on MacOS Mojave, but the same issue is happening on my Catalina machine.
  5. Ah, Yes you have. I checked my other Mac which still has AP 1.7.3 on it and in the PDF for Print export settings the 'Allow JPEG Compression' setting is set to 85% by default, whereas in 1.8.1 it is now set to 98% by default. All other settings are the same. I assume this is the reason for the large file sizes. I wonder what the reasons were for this change. The print jobs I had done using the old default settings were great, and the PDFs were not too huge.
  6. Thanks Jon Just so you know, I'm using the Affinity Store version of Publisher, and the text in my PDFs IS selectable. But the PDFs are still about 4 times larger than before.
  7. I have two Macs, one on Mojave and one on Catalina. The issue with the oversized PDFs is actually happening on the Mojave Mac, which is my main work computer. I haven't upgraded to Affinity 1.8 programs yet on the Catalina one, but I will test it when I do.
  8. I just updated to Affinity Publisher 1.8.1 on MacOS today, and loving the new features so far. However I had to update a couple of words in a afpub document I had created about a week ago and re-export it as a PDF for print. The PDF was 5.8MB, while the PDF created by AP 1.7 a week ago was only 1.4MB. I tested a few other files and got similar results. Is there a new setting that I now need to adjust in AP 1.8.1 or is this a bug?
  9. Not sure if this is the best place to post this, but I wanted to request a new app. There are plenty of photo retouching tools for iPhone but nothing can match the object removal capabilities of the inpainting brush in AP for iPad, which it literally like magic, and way better than the context aware tool in Photoshop. I would LOVE a iPhone app that could remove objects quickly while I'm on the move and want to post something to Facebook or instagram. I've tried a few but they are all so primitive compared to Affinity Photo. So how about an Affinity Photo 'mini' for iPhone? You could put filters and adjustments in as well, but to be honest there are hundreds of iPhone apps that already do that really well. The inpainting brush would be killer though. Maybe call it Affinity Photo Cleaner or something?
  10. Hi GrinningShark Just wanted to say thanks for sorting that problem. It was happening to me too and your solution fixed it :-)
