Upgrading just Designer to V2

I have a V1 license for just Designer - not the whole suite. Is it possible to get upgrade pricing to upgrade just Designer to V2?

EPSs empty when open

I have a few EPS files that, when I open them, they're completely transparent. I see the individual elements in the layers panel, but I can't select them in the main window. Double-clicking on any element in the layers panel zooms to the same particular spot in the file, but doesn't select anything or show what I clicked on. This doesn't happen for all files, just a few, so I'm guessing this is an issue with the file and not AD - but is there anything I can do? Thanks.
