  1. Good grief. I have to create two shapes for one piece of text! That's bordering on the slightly bonkers side of things. But thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
  2. Thanks for this. I checked the Paragraph Panel, the Text Frame Panel and the Text Wrap panel, but nothing resolved the issue. I guess I'm trying to do basic things in Affinity Publisher that I've grown up doing in PageMaker, QuarkXPress, InDesign etc.
  3. I'm after some assistance here. I have a rectangular text frame in Affinity Publisher, but it's top left corner is a curve. When I place text into the frame, the curve seems to affect the first couple of lines of text – almost like the frame has an internal text wrap. What I'd like to know is how do I get the text in the frame to ignore the text frame shape, and just follow the inset measurements that I'm specifying in the Text Frame panel. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
  4. Reading this thread, it appears that vector patterns still aren’t supported in Designer V2. Disappointing! As an Illustrator user since version 1.0 – yes! I'm that old – and having worked as a designer at Aldus- the original owners of FreeHand – there are some basic concepts of vector drawing apps that I've grown up with. Being able to create and apply patterns within a document being one of those things. I like to keep my designs live, and contain all the elements within one document. Having to export patterns as a PNG and then bring them back as a fill, is really clunky. I so wanted to fall in love with the new versions of these Affinity products, especially as the Shape Builder tool finally made an appearance in Designer. However it already feels like they're going to sit on my digital shelf for the next few years gathering dust.
  5. Thanks mainly to the new Shape Builder tool in Designer, I upgraded all my Affinity apps to V2 this week. I'm now rolling up my sleeves and migrating my workflow across to Affinity. As a result I have questions. Lots of them! So please bear with me.

  6. Hi folks. I recently downloaded the beta of Affinity Publisher to my MacBookPro. I now want to move my purchased copies of Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo from my iMac to my MacBookPro, so that I have the whole suite of apps on one machine. Can anyone point me to a thread or a "How to" guide which deals with uninstalling Affinity apps from one machine and then reinstalling them on another. I searched, but didn't really find what I was looking for. Thanks!
