This is ridiculous. RULERS!

😅 This is reminding me of vectornator when they allowed you to change your preferences to your liking but when you started a new document you had to change all your preferences all over again.  It was SO annoying!             

This is really annoying. Same goes for the Node Tool settings at the bottom.  Why are they reset whenever you re-open the document?  Did some actually say it's a better idea to do that and everyone agreed?  Who wouldn't expect to have the same settings kept as they were whenever they re-opened their documents?

I find it also annoying that you always have to turn on the grid manually whenever re-entering a document. Also an icon for the grid would be a nice to have, maybe combined with the snapping tool in the left bottom corner toolbar.

Thanks 😃 I am pretty sure they are working in the background. I was just wondering as normally Serif is "louder".

It seems like a good application but that it has no rules in my case makes the application useless. I spent hours searching the program until I decided to search the forum and get here and see that the rules do not exist for iPad is disappointing.
 

Four years later and iPad still lacks basic functions like rulers and import palettes  
I add a vote for rulers too.

I have a workaround that can work in some cases, but it has serious limitations. But maybe it helps someone.
- I create a new document with the same size artboard (so I can copy the elements in place)
- I copy&paste all the instances I want to change to that other document (I like to keep the originals in case I need to go back, so I just hide them. See cons.)
- Modify the symbol and rename it on the layers panel (This way all the instances get renamed.)
- Copy them back to the original document. They become a new symbol on the Symbols panel.
 
Cons:
- It only works for one symbol. For example if you have Symbol A and Symbol B and you want to change some instances of both to Symbol C, you can't. Since they both become new symbols (e.g. C and D).
- That's why, if you decide that you need to change some more instances, you need to redo the whole thing and do them all at once.
 
 

Lovely graphics; very tasteful and smart. Maps can be very interesting things to make.

How to see the characters full map on Designer on iPad?

Many have pointed out that Apple is showing Affinity Publisher in it's ads for iPad Air 5. My guess is that this is where their attention is going at the moment. There is still one application in the lineup that hasn't been released even as a beta yet so it makes sense that this is their main focus.

That is very interesting! I am very much looking forward to puclisher on iPad to see how it would work for me.

Its so disappointing, I have just had to suck it up and buy Illustrator as my design practice cannot function with out 'Select' and 'Live Paint' - really disappointed that this is still not a priority!!

live paint + trcing on ipad = the happier illustrator in the world))))))

Yes please, also because Illustrator's live paint is able to create hatches in the hardest of circumstances in which CAD tools fail.
It's also very quick.

Good lord, still not fixed. I have lost all hope that this ever gets fixed at this point.
 
Not using the app anymore because the line thickness acts so erratically. Frustrating.
