I think the default should be to link the image.
Embedding the image is a bit counter-intuitive to how other applications work, Quark, InDesign, Scribus etc. all Link be default, and embedding is an option.
Plus, emedding images can cause issues, if you edit an embedded image and the file becomes corrupt, you lose that embedded image with the edits.

Hi,
Got a library of hundred of these (version X6) that regularly get updated. Will they be supported? Haven't spotted any reference to this in anything I've read. Hope I've just missed it.

Hi Everyone,
I have long look forward to the moment of the beta version of Affinity Publisher.. I have a few suggestions for improve the software.
Color setting: I think it's better starts with CMYK color setting instead of RGB, because you used this program for print and not for web or screen. Document Setup: When you want put in margin or bleed, it's will be easer if you can click a link-icon so that the sizes fill in other places. Bleed: I saw in this forum already the suggestion, but it's handy if you can see the bleed in your document. Image place: When you want place a image in the picture frame will be it handy if you can use a shortkey like CMD + D like Indesign. That are my first points of feedback of Publisher.
