There is only one version of the 1.7.0.57 beta, so no need to be concerned about English vs German.
On the chance that you're experiencing the same issue that has plagued some users of Photo and Designer 1.6.5.119 and 1.6.5.123, I suggest trying the steps listed in this post from the Affinity Support team.
