OK, now we're in business! Reseting it that way worked. I did reset through the preference window and it didn't do the trick, now I know a new trick. Thanks a Bunch, I was breaking my head on this.

Command + J actually works! Thanks for that. Command + V only produce new frame text layer, dos't matter what I do and how I copy. Must be a bug or something. it doesn't make any sense

Has this issue for a while. selecting with rectangular selection tool a part of one layer (Pixel) and trying to pate it into another layer or to a new layer. I tried every copy command and every paste command on the menu, the only thing that happens is a new frame text layer is being created. Very frustrating. I would expect to see a contextual menu for the selection tool and an option to create layer from selection. This is something I use 10 times a day on Photoshop.
