I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I was confused about whether or not a particular font was activated or not. It was marked as a 'favorite' in Connect Fonts, but wasn't actually activated. Of course, it would be nice if it had auto-activated, but that's another issue, obviously. I plan to reach out to Extensis about that issue separately...

While I'm using Connect Fonts, its font vault is on my computer, as are all the fonts I'm using. My understanding is that the vault is available through their web interface as well, but I don't use that feature. It likely also allows my vault to be synced between multiple machines, but I don't use that feature either. Sorry, didn't mean to stir up any controversy either! P.S. Is there a way to delete posts that were created by accident, like the one above?

I'm trying to open an old Adobe Illustrator file in Affinity Designer, and I'm getting font replacement suggestions that don't make sense, because the fonts are activated in my font manager (Extensis Connect Fonts). Can anyone here give me a clue for how to get Designer to see my activated fonts? Many thanks!

Thanks @stokerg, And apologies for the delayed reply. Your suggestion is a good one, of course, and I'll try to find time to start posting specific workflows soon. I wear a lot of hats in my community, so I only need to use these tools occasionally (as opposed to being a full-time graphic designer, for instance). One of the main things I've used Illustrator for over the years is to create scale drawings of the sort draftsmen used to do with plan and elevation views. (I'm old enough that drafting is something I took in high school and really enjoyed. I got so that I was very comfortable with a t-square and several triangles! 👨🏼‍🦳) As such, I got pretty fast with the pen and line tools in AI. The first time I tried to do the same thing in Designer, I was surprised how differently the tools worked. If possible, as a start, could you (or someone) point me in the direction of a comparison of how the pen and line tools translate to Designer vs how they work in AI? Many thanks again for your help!

Believe me, I searched and searched to try and find an existing post like this, to no avail... I'm an old Illustrator user, fairly fluent in that program's tools and interface, and find myself confused and daunted by how different Designer is. Has anyone put together a resource that shows how to do things in Designer, compared to how we did them in Illustrator? That would be so helpful for someone like me!
