  1. Alfred: It worked. And, although I'm not sure, I'm guessing that's probably the method the original designers used. THANKS!
  2. Thanks for the suggestions. But… There would be dozens of books—sometimes each containing over a thousand questions and answers—often requiring updates (editing, additions, deletions, etc.) every six months. Thus: 1) Considering the numerous changes applied via style sheets (which is automatic and keeps everything flowing correctly), drawing lines is not an option under consideration. 2) How underlines are created in a document matters because: Underscores are glyphs (a visual structure used to present a character) and, thus, designed to work specifically and stylistically with a particular font-family. So, for example, you cannot simply exchange Helvetica’s underline for Hevetica Neue’s underline while maintaining the same size / thickness / leading / etc. Note: I've examined a few documents created by the original publishers. They were *.indd. No lines have been drawn. So maybe this is something InDesign does via a Paragraph Rule/Style not available in Affinity Publisher? [How these answer lines were created remains a mystery.] In the interim, I created another workaround. This, however, would never be approved—as it’s far too time consuming. See attached.
  3. Dear Affinity Forum, Please, I’m stuck and need layout / functionality help: 1) How do I make underlines that are fully justified without text? (See ‘Correct-Look’ / Left Column) 2) How do I make the same paragraph as 1) and while having Left Align text with Force Justified underlines? (See ‘Correct-Look’ / Right Column) Note: Using underscores (which is what I used to create 'Correct-Look') as a workaround won't suffice—as these appear as dashes in various fonts. Also, using any baseline does not play well with other paragraph / font styles. Note: I thought 'Paragraph Rules' might be an answer but, alas, I cannot figure this out. And, the Decoration function appears to apply to only one line in a paragraph. Thanks
  4. Please reference the attached images. 1. In each image the text flowing to the next page is a continuation of a sentence from the previous page. 2. All the text boxes are the same. 3. All the paragraph body copy/text has the same style. ! The text has an inconsistent flow. Sometimes it begins at the absolute top (green arrow) of the page [image-2]; sometimes further down (red arrow) [image-1]. Note: This is occurring on both verso and recto pages. • Please, where is the setting so all flowing body text begins at the absolute top of each text box on every page? * Note: Please don’t suggest using the Baseline / Grid option. Thanks
  5. Chris_K wrote: Future? Not bad? That’s outrageous and absolutely unacceptable! Here’s why: I’ve been working with QuarkXPress since the 90s and InDesign since the 2000s. I was completely surprised when I noticed a Package / Collect for Output feature was missing. So I made a call to a project manager working with various commercial publishers and with contracts at CocaCola, HP, Cannon, Honda, Hallmark, etc. The basic response was:, “What! There is no way that output process will work or be taken seriously by anyone in ‘The Industry.’” So Chris, I’d respectfully suggest that instead of moving this to a feature request and thinking about it as something for a future update, Serif get on this immediately and have it working prior to the first release. And while I understand there is little chance Serif will take my advice, I’ll predict this is one of the biggest blunders ever. Whoever vetoed the Package / Collect for Output feature has little understanding of the final output process of professionals and commercial print houses. yYM - - - - - - - - - - AFFINITY PUBLISHER (BETA) 1.7.0.133 - macOS: 10.13.6 - MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) - Processor 3.1 GHz Intel Core i7 - Memory 16 GB 1867 MHz DDR3 - Graphics Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MB
  6. Kai2, Yesterday I experienced a copy/paste (text / text frame) issue. My Resolution: closed the file; closed Publisher; reopened the file. Copy/Paste worked. Note: No extra programs were running. AFFINITY PUBLISHER (BETA) 1.7.0.128 - macOS: 10.13.6 - MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) - Processor 3.1 GHz Intel Core i7 - Memory 16 GB 1867 MHz DDR3 - Graphics Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MB
  7. Follow these steps: 1. Close then Open Affinity Publisher on a 13 inch Retina Screen. Don’t move or stretch the window. 2. Create ‘Frame Text.’ 3. Click the Extras icon (>>) on the right side of the menu to reveal the Extras dropdown. - A Menu reDraw Bug occurs such that the ’Columns numbers amount’ field is not available in the dropdown. See: fig1 THAT’S NOT ALL! 4. Now, and only now, move Affinity Publisher’s window to the left; then, stretch the window to the right; the Extras will now be seen—as the window is effectively wider. See: fig2 5. Shrink the window back to the original size so the Extras icon (>>) appears again. 6. Click the Extras icon. All the Extras appear as they should. See: fig3 Note: Depending upon what’s clicked next, the dropdown menu may or may not continue to function correctly. - - - - - AFFINITY PUBLISHER (BETA) 1.70.58 - macOS: 10.13.6 - MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) - Processor 3.1 GHz Intel Core i7 - Memory 16 GB 1867 MHz DDR3 - Graphics Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536 MB
  8. I have the same Toolbar bug. Note: This same Toolbar Bug first appeared and occurs in QuarkXPress v2016. It appeared to be MacOS / Mac configuration specific and was fixed by Quark in v2017 and v2018. Their workarounds for v2016 were the same. If Serif cannot solve this easily, they might wish to contact the engineers at Apple to see why this happens. Current Testing Configuration:
