  1. Hi! I am using Publisher today for first time. Saw on internet that directly opening InDesign files isn't possible, but saw the recommendation of saving from ID as PDF first. This opens in Publisher and I have tried different import checkbox settings. However, it seems where I have tab settings with more than one tab and indent, Publisher divides the single text box up into multiple text boxes to maintain the original alignment. Page one of the attached file worked fine, but page 2 at top left has this issue and page 5 really gets messed up. Any ideas on how to get a clean conversion with editable text? I have 20 years worth of InDesign files I need to be able to work with, otherwise I will have to continue my Adobe subscription (not my intention). Thanks for any help! 2. The newest version seems to have fixed the issue for me. Thank you, MEB!
  3. Thought you should know: If I highlight a paragraph of text and type in a tracking amount I want (other than zero), it works fine and remains that way. But, if I use the dropdown menu and choose a standard tracking amount (e.g., +15%), then it switches within the selected text, but jumps back to the previous tracking setting when I deselect the text.
  4. Mike and Alex: Excellent, thanks! Just found this at the very bottom of the character choices, after scrolling. Sorry for troubling you, but thought I had looked everywhere. Have a wonderful weekend!
  5. Thanks, A_B_C, but I have checked out the character panel, the paragraph panel, and the extended typography panel options and don't see optical margin alignment. See my attachment: What I am looking for would allow the program to automatically push out the period at the end of the sentence into the right margin so that the copy visually looks lined up. This is very important to me on small body copy columns with quotation marks and the like. Thanks for your input!
  6. Hi! Trying the beta today for the first time. I noticed when hovering around to read tooltips that the one for "Position" (superscript/subscript) incorrectly reads, "Vertical Scale." (This is the last option in the "Positioning and Transform" palette. One thing I'm not seeing yet--and wonder if I just haven't found--would be what Adobe calls the "Story" palette and the "Optical Margin Alignment" feature. Is there such functionality in Publisher? Also, is there a way to change the default increment to a smaller amount so that arrow key nudges for kerning/tracking from the keyboard are more subtle? It's in preferences in Adobe InDesign and I set mine to 5/1,000 of an em instead of Adobe's 25/1,000 default (I think). Great job so far! (I am anxious for a professional InDesign replacement.) Thank you!
