LukasMizera reacted to VectorVonDoom in LNER Mallard locomotive
My favourite as a kid with its art deco looks and having the speed record of 126mph. Back then I didn't realise it was one of a quite a few class A4's. Designed by Nigel Gresley and built in 1938 by London & North Eastern Railway in Doncaster.
I'll likely shrink it down a bit so there's more sky above the funnel but have left it like that for now so it's easier to work on and see the details.
The outline's without the background otherwise it looks even more of a mess.

Infected
This is my first drawing using Affinity Designer 2.0 (A revamped version of the colourful Lena which I have not uploaded!)
It is really a test of the updates made to the Brush Dynamics in Affinity 2.0
Created a new set of inking brushes that makes use of interpolation and the new Distance options with the brush dynamics. I have found that the brushes are much smoother, faster and more responsive..I really like the ability of 'Distance' to allow for the tapering of the nozzle. Even though you have to adjust the direction of the graph!

LukasMizera reacted to lalcimo in How To Reset The Bounding Box In Designer...
I found a "workaround" on resetting the bounding box for the following objects:
GROUPS: Ungroup then regroup. Skew, rotation, and bounding box will be reset.
SHAPES: It's impossible in itself but you can place it in a group to have the bounding box reset.
CURVES: Use an operation on your OBJECT. For me, I create a small rectangle and place it on a curve that I want to reset. I use ADD operation on them. Do take note that if you have round corners, they would be baked. I suggest that remove them first, and then reapply after resetting the bounding box. Also, the NEW OBJECT would have the fill and stroke of the OBJECT UNDERNEATH. In my example, it used the green fill instead of the red.
I do hope that Affinity would have a simpler way to reset the bounding box permanently, but for now, these workarounds would do.

LukasMizera reacted to MikeTO in Shape Group without Rectangle and Ellipse Tool
This inconsistency makes little sense to me. Rectangle and Ellipse are unstacked in Designer but not in Publisher or Photo. It makes sense for Photo not to have un-stacked shape tools because shapes are used less frequently in a photo editor. Publisher has the shortest Tools panel so there's definitely room for Rectangle and Ellipse. I'd argue that a regular Rectangle tool would be used by more people than the Ellipse Picture Frame tool.
I don't think the space savings are important enough to have an inconsistency but it's not a big deal, I can find the tools when I need them.
