  1. Thank you for this hint - the export with PDF-Version 1.7 did it. Nothing is rasterized.
  2. Hi! If i place PDFs in Publisher V2.0.0 and export the pages, the placed content is rasterized. This are the exportsettings: This is the original pdf, opened in Acrobat: And this is the exported PDF from Publisher V2, opened in Acrobat: How can I avoid this?
  3. I really hoped that a more usable level concept would come with version 2. But unfortunately the "page chaos" still reigns. ๐Ÿ˜ž We all need a global level concept to be able to process large projects easily and quickly. The simple layer concept from ID is what we all want. Serif people, please look around the forums - this feature is often requested. It really is essential to make the big switch away from ID. Please, work on it ... please ...

  5. Hello! Is it possible to manipulate a placed image or the containing frame by a shortcut? (MacOS/Publisher 1.10.4) Using the mouse for the "properties"-menu or rightclick for the contextual-menu isnt very handy for us. In an other well known application its quick&easy by pressing CMD/OPT/SHiFT+E or CMD/OPT+C That goes extremly fast and brings the image/the frame in the expected condition. Thanks for answers!
  6. Gosh - im shocked that this layerconcept is still fact. I do many projects where global layers are mandatory. So now publisher is not usable for me, sorry but this is an factor of exclusion ๐Ÿ˜ž
  7. thank you @walt.farrell - exactly what I want. Indeed one step more than necessary but good too.
  8. Yes we know datamerge, but its not as useful. The template as 6 rows by 27 lines (162 tags). Most of the jobs have between 60 and 120 datafields. The customer wants his tags twice, first besides and then beneath. For materialsavings we fill up the rows and go down the lines fltr. Have a look at the screenshot. The textboxes are linked, so if havent a full template we delete complete rows until the plate reaches a rectangle near 6 rows and X lines. If we use the datamerge, there is no linking possible and we cant cut the rows.
  9. we also do some engravings on tags. this are very small tags which we get on a template. the textsource is an excel-sheet - the easiest way to center the line (h+v) on each tag is this solution.
  10. Thank you for this marvelous hint! Didnt recognized this status-line, in the future I will have a look at it.
  11. Hello! I want to copy any marked element by using a mathematic operation in the transform-box (see screenshot). In the actual case, I want to copy the marked boxes 50 mm to the left. In an other DTP-Application, this is possible by typing the operation in the transform-box, pressing the ALT(option)-key and hitting Enter/Return. Easy and the result fits perfect. Sadly in Publisher it isnt possible - that slows down the workflow. Martin
  12. Hi! Im using Publisher 1.10.4 and Beta 1.10.0.1115 on Mac. I want do copy a textbox and place it directly beside the sourcebox. In a wellknown DTP-app I have to click on the sourcebox, than I drag it by mouse and holding the ALT- and the SHIFT-key directly beside the sourcebox. The destinationbox snaps to the border of the sourcebox - it fits perfect without any space. In Affinity Publisher Im missing this behaviour. The box is copied like above - but the snap-function is missing. If I duplicate the box and move it after the duplication-process closley to the source - it snaps to the source as expected before. Please fix - thank you!
  13. Uploads of the INDD-PDF and the screenshots are done. A small hint to our workflow in INDD: In previous versions of INDD, you have to place the "Original"-PDF on the masterpages. If you placed the original pdf on page 1 + 2 and do then a datamerge, the exported pdf was as big as now in Publisher. In the meantime, it does not matter whether the PDFs are placed on the sample page or on the regular pages.
  14. Hi! Thanks for this quick response - the upload is done. Please reply if any further actions are needed. The upload contains: Original PDF from our cutsomer Excel-File with addresses the Publisher-file from which we generate the personalized document the personalized Publisher-file
  15. Hi! I do a Datamerge for printing an adress on the backside of a postcard. I placed the original PDF on two masterpages in Publisher 1.9.4 1082. The PDF-File is set to "passthrough". After generating the Publisherfile of 1.688 adresses (very quick ) - I stunned. After the datamerge the exported PDF with 3376 Pages have 3.7 GigaByte. Doing the same procedure in InDesign, the result ist 6 MegaByte. OK, for sure this is because of the PDF-Feature XObjects which APublisher do not support? Serif, please please take it on your ToDo-List ... its important (not only to us). Regards, Martin
  16. +1 for this feature(set). Need the option for an object to mark it as "non printable" and export pdfs with layers which are not printable.
  17. Thanks to all - I didn know this feature in FEX. Tried it now - and it seems to work. Got the message that the missing font (brown) is activating in FEX ... but its still not active for APu. See Screenshots, first this block should be "Brown Light"- but it is subsituted. This screeshot was taken after FEX displayed that this missing font is activating. This is FEX, after displaying "Brown Light is activating" After disabling "Brown Light" in FEX by hand and reactivating it, APu recognized the font: So this FEX-Feature is the first step in the right direction. But not the full solution. Thanks to all involved.
  18. Yes - but checking a document with 64 pages and dozens of advertisments every time you send a layoutsample to the customer ... that is very annoying. In comparison, clicking on a "stop box" is nothing. We sometimes have 5 to 10 larger projects running at the same time - so a manual check is not possible. There are some font issues in the context of AffinityProducts and Catalina + Bug Sur which we know. Most of them are easy to edit - but if a missing font is not clearly displayed, then it can be expensive for us as a company. ๐Ÿ˜ž
  19. I agree, but it protects against broken PDFs (without fonts) going to print APu 9.3.1 on BigSur (Intel), Font "Brown" (see http://www.aurelesack.com/works/ll-brown/ http://www.aurelesack.com/works/ll-brown-specimen/), our Fontmanager is Linotype FontExplorer 7.2.6 - a sampledocument is possible, but not for public access. I also tried APuBeta 1.9.2 1024 - same issue.
  20. Sometimes I open documents that contain fonts that are not activated. Sometimes I don't get a warning about the missing fonts, the document just opens without warning. The warning is usually displayed, but then it is too inconspicuous for my taste. This essential information should be displayed as clearly as in the competitor product "ID" - there you cannot continue working without clicking away the warning or replacing the step. Regards, Martin
  21. @Old Bruce sadly the check for Tracking or kerning is not possible, because this is a placed Illustrator-File which we cannot modify. In this case a fuction like passthrough-pdf is needed - or a better handling of imported graphics, which is IMHO the better option. @PeterB. iยดm on the road, later this evening I will drop some files here.
  22. Hi! In Publisher beta 1.9.2.1024 appears a issue with a placed Illustrator-File. This is the logo like it should look and this is the picture as it shows (and export) in AFP Sadly there is no errorreport on placing this file. The used font (Myriad Pro Regular) is loaded and active. If necessary, dataupload to developers is possible - please request. Best regards, Martin
