  1. I would like to convert my illustrated math book for children from InDesign to Affinity Designer. It seems that the simplest way is to take the print-ready PDF generated by InDesign and just open it in Affinity Designer. However, the margins and bleed settings are lost that way so they have to be reentered. The spreads are also lost and the book appear as single pages, but this can also be remedied by selecting "Facing pages" in the document setup. Is there anything else that needs to be done? Is something vital lost if done this way? I am guessing the other option would be to set up the book from scratch and cut and paste images and text, but that requires a lot more work.
