  1. Thanks for the tip, I'll use it for my own work. However I am not the author of the material for this publication, I receive it as Word documents, though I have to indulge in a fair bit of post-processing before importing it!
  2. Many thanks, that worked a treat..., though I can't see why! It seems that grouping the picture and its caption makes all the difference. I'll follow your advice about basing styles on one another too. François
  3. As a newbie, I'm having a problem with typesetting an article with footnotes. For no reason that I can see, the program leaves a largish blank area at the bottom of the column and continues the text on the next. How can I get it to fill the column down to the footnote area? Thanks for any help as I'm totally stuck! Lemerre 2023-12-11.afpub
  4. I'm a total newbie - I only got AP last month - but I've already got totally stuck! Somehow I deleted the "character" and "paragraph" sub-headings of the "Style" menu and cannot see how I can retrieve them! How can I get them back please?
  5. Do you have any idea of the time-scale for footnotes/endnotes to be offered? Months? Years? Serif don't seem to appreciate how vital they are for many types of publications...
  6. The publications I typeset require footnotes and endnotes. I cannot see these in my beta release, so I won't be able to switch from PPX9 until they are there. Don't forget an "Endnote placement" facility so that endnotes can be placed before a bibliography. The user-interface is light-years ahead of that of PagePlus however...
  7. To find a topic of interest, a "search the help" facility would be greatly desirable, if not essential.
