Thanks Patrick. Technically, yes, I suppose that's what I'm looking to do, however the process seems like one more step than necessary. It feels like any shape should automatically be a frame, whether filled with a color or a photo. And once selected, it seems like I should be able to, with the mouse loaded with the image, click on the frame to paste it inside. Just a philosophical difference of opinion, but it would speed up workflow!

So far, I've not found an option to "Paste Into" a vector shape or any shape at all. This is a really beneficial feature to Indesign that I'd love to see in Affinity! Maybe it's coming in the full release?
