[Cell Width]

Wow, that was a quick fix... nice to see a software company on top of things

[Affinity Publisher is not a copy of InDesign - no massive fail!]

I've only had a limited amount of time to play with the beta but I'm interested if anyone has found anything that Publisher does, or improves upon, in terms of like features or workflows over InDesign? I jumped shipped on Quark when InDesign was first launched years ago because I liked what the program offered and in my opinion improved on, but aside from price I'm curious to see what those who have more time to explore have found.

[Cell Width]

A restart seemed to have corrected this but then I manually changed the cells width by dragging the separator (between the A | B | at the top of the table) and tried to resize again with the dialogue box and the issue was back.

[Tables]

I'd like to see a selectable option for no fill under the Stroke and Fill submenu of the Table menu, similar to the Frame submenu. Currently if you only have colour applied to a number of cells you have to zero out the colour sliders to remove a fill. 

... ok, I've found another way to remove the fill, if you click on the Fill under "Stroke and Fill" there's a tab labelled "None", seems a little odd but it works, I'd still like a standard visual similar to what's under the Frame submenu.

I'd also like to have the ability to split a cell (horizontally and/or vertically) that has not already been merged.

[Cell Width]

Select a single or multiple cell(s) within a table, open the "Table" dialogue box, View > Studio > Table, and under the "Cell" submenu the Width input box will only make the cell smaller no matter if you click on the up/increase or down/decrease arrows.

[Linked text frames]

I copied/pasted text from another program into a text frame in Publisher, reduced the size of the frame to force the text to overflow/overset then linked to a new text frame. The copy in the linked frame flowed in at a smaller point size. If I selected all on the copy, the text height box shows the size at 13 pt, if I select just the text in the right hand column/text frame it's 9.9 pt. I closed the file and tried a few more times and can't replicate the problem but it was there.

[Change image opacity]

I'm curious as to why I can change the opacity of text and vector based objects but with an imported image the only way I can change its opacity is via a layer?

 

Looks like you can under the Effects panel, I was trying with the Opacity slider which I now see is part of the Colour palette so it makes sense.

 

[Bleed]

Would also be nice to have a checkable global bleed button so you don't have to input the same number four times
