  1. Mark: I tired opening your file. It seemed to open at first, showed first page, then CPU went to 94% and eventually Publisher showed "Not Responding"
  2. Tried 2 new files, saved and opened them - all OK. The two afpub files were first created a year ago with an earlier version of Publisher. I don't think it is the same as mark.garnish, as there are many differences. My files only have 2 pages each, some pictures but not many. CPU does go up a bit, but not much - task manager capture attached. I have attached the two files that cause the hang. I also confirm they open fine in v 1.8.3 or earlier A4_flyer_programme_2020-21_v2.afpub A4_flyer_programme_2019-20_v4.afpub
  3. ProcDump run as instructed for publisher.exe Publisher.exe_200829_120039.dmp
  4. I have removed versions 1.8.4 and 1.8.5 and reverted to 1.8.3, which is working OK. I am reluctant to go through the rigmarole of installing 1.8.4/5 again, and then having to remove it again to demonstrate the problem to you. There is not much to show - upon opening a second afpub file, Publisher window fades after a few seconds then just shows "Not Responding" in the title bar. It stays like that until I force close Publisher using Task Manager.
  5. If I try to open more than on previously created Publisher file, it hangs with "Not Responding" message (until I force close the application). This started with version 1.8.4, has continued with 1.8.5. I have reverted to 1.8.3, which is working OK.
  6. I have exported a PPP file as a PDF, and opened it with Affinity Publisher, but some features (e.g. tables) have been converted into umpteen text boxes
  7. Any chance Affinity Publisher could import/open ppp (Serif Publisher) files?
