    Compress tif file

Thanks. When I followed your directions what I found was the doc was already rgb8. I did however lower the quality setting before exporting to iPhoto. when I opened in photoshop the file was still the same 50mb+. There must be some incompatibility issue with photoshop. It’s the only thing I can think of. one more question you may be able to clarify. If I lower the ppi from 300 to 200 after the original was created at 300 will it be the same quality if the original was created at 200? Thanks again.

This is what I see when I open documents. Nothing like the interface you posted. When I chose the hand icon nothing happened.

Thanks again Walt. Would you please advise me how to make the change you suggest. I don’t recall ever seeing rgb/8. I have saved files in rug but not seen options. best, ken

    Compress tif file

Walt: one example. 4200x4200 pixels, 14”X14” image size . 300 dpi. i want to place my work for sale on FineartAmerica website and they will only accept files smaller than 25 mb. they suggest converting to jpeg but when I do this in photoshop the file size stays the same 50 mb. Can I achieve this in Affinity? I’ve looked and dont see how. thanks a lot

Thanks Walt. I put my pic in photoshop but nothing happened when I tried to compress choosing LZW. The options were grayed out. I guess my only option is to lower the ppi, which I hate to do.

  9. Is there a way to emulate the duplicate tool in photoshop? i tried drawing a simple box then copy pasted it. Once the selection appeared i tried to move it. Didn’t work. thanks

    Apply change to selection

Thanks again. Only one layer. Maybe there was some glitch in the app. no idea why nothing would change in the selection. i ended up using another app. much appreciate your input

    Apply change to selection

Thank you: pixel selection? I used the tool that indicated a dotted line around the selection. Is that different than a pixel selection? And I used photo,iPad.
  12. I was disappointed when I imported a photo selected one person of four whose face fell into shadow and was much darker than the others. in photoshop I would select the face and use exposure to lighten it in balance with the others. Could not do this in Affinity. am I missing something? Thanks
  13. Used the card reader from my camera on the iPad Pro for the first time. i opened Affinity Photo chose import from camera. When the photos arrived they were in in iPhoto. What should I do when I import to Affinity so I can process in raw? thanks
