Yes! The project I was talking about is finally completed and just got published online! The spiral tool was used to create the tapes inside the reels. You can view it here;
 
 

Yes!! Super glad I can finally share this Music Video Visuals with Character Animations now. Put a lot of work, time and effort into this one and had to 'kill many darlings' during the process, but with no regrets! 

Design and Illustrations were all made in Affinity Designer. Also the new Spiral tool was great for doing the inner wound tapes! That tool arrived just in time! 

Animation was completely done in Moho 14 Pro. I've made and audio mastered the music, and also programmed Moho plugin scripts to use the Affinity Designer Spine JSON export to export all graphics as trimmed PNG's and import these with all auto-positioning into Moho quickly and easily. I've also written a script to animate the tape deck by keyframing on speed and accelerations instead of animating on angles.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I had while creating it! 🙂 
And if you do, please also like it on Youtube for the algorithm and stuff! Would be nice!

This thread's main intense is about vectorization/tracing tools, so concrete about that specific bitmap-to-vector tracing theme/materia. - So not for whatever other general app related things here!

That's a very off-topic discussion for this topic in these forums, and for the Affinity forums in general. I would respectfully suggest that it should be held elsewhere (on a VS discussion forum would be best), to keep this topic and these forums to their intended purpose.

... it's at best completely unneeded and in my eyes overall more an attempt by the OP to generate more view clicks here and as jmwellborn already very aptly said, “to justify from the beginnings an originally dubious premise”.
Further did you ever saw that somebody, whose thread has been moved by the forum moderators from the "Resources" forum category to this more theme suitable "Affinity on Desktop Questions (macOS and Windows)" category, has then in turn created a locked info thread there in "Resources", just in order to tell that the initial thread has been moved? - If everybody would do so/that, then the Resources category would be full with top locked confusing and irrelevant threads!

“The image is based from an image that I designed in 1977 as best I remember it” doesn’t exactly shout “Using Affinity software in depth.” This entire series of escalating posts from Mr. Overington appears to me rather more as a feeble attempt to justify what was originally a dubious premise. In the Resources section of the Forums, several very professional templates have been provided by generous Forum members. They are easily adjustable, and elegant to use.

(When I read the Affinity change log about that spiral tool I thought I would never use it. Yet a day later I really needed it and it worked out great for the project I'm currently working on! I'll post it as soon as it's done!)

To demo a Tool I've developed for Moho Pro Animation Software I made the design for a Demo Animation completely in Affinity Designer and animated it in Moho. Hope you like it!

Absolutely agree this development cycle is the way to go. The number of improvements and fixes since 2.0 release has been incredible. Congrats to the Affinity fam for a great release and listening to users' feedback!

Hi All,
I’m pleased to say that we will be pushing 2.3 live to retail this morning. The beta versions were updated yesterday to the same build (2.3.0.2165) as detailed in Patrick’s post here. This means the beta versions are in effect exactly the same as the retail versions we will push so you can keep them installed if you wish. 
As always it’s been a pleasure working with you all on this release and cannot thank you enough for all the bug reports and other feedback you have given. I mentioned at the start of this beta we are working towards a shorter cadence between updates to help us release improvements and bug fixes sooner - and I hope you agree this has worked very well.
With that in mind we will be starting 2.4 beta very shortly (hopefully in just a couple of weeks). Looking forward to seeing you all on here for that!

With a major assist from a black and white drawing of Ancient Windsor Castle in the British Library's collection of images in the public domain (watercolour brushes), plus a Jixipix plugin, plus some Pixabay images of snow, a bow, and some spruce (selection brush tool), I wish each and every person at Serif — who has/have been so indefatigable at giving us our lovely V.3 this year — a blessed and happy Christmas! A more elegant group of professionals could not be found!
My thanks and best wishes also go to the many Forum members who have so kindly devoted so much of their time and intellect over the past years to answering thousands of "how do I ..." questions from other Forum members. Not to mention my own. I have learned from those answers more than I ever imagined when first I found Affinity Photo, and later Designer and Publisher a few years ago.
A special thanks goes to @MikeTO for his extraordinary gift to us all of his Publisher manual. It is a Herculean effort and so very appreciated, I am sure, by many of us.
So thank you, everybody, and may we all pray for peace on Earth in 2024!
P.S.  The bow in my jpg is actually a clear red.  Not sure why the uploaded version is this rather off-putting burnt sienna.  The spruce looks rather sick and tired too.  Oh, well. Not Photo's fault.

Due to posts like these - I just finished creating a free script (SS SVG Import) in Moho to import SVG files directly from Affinity (and others). You should not need to change any settings in Affinity for it to work and import successfully with correct Layers, Layout and Colors etc.

Thanks for the tip. If you mean the 'Find in Layers panel' in the context manu; yes, I see it. And that's nice to open the group(s) it's in in the layers panel, but honestly there should always be a highlight on the layers panel instead of needing to manually do this with some menu each and every time. That's not very efficient. Also this setting is always opening the group(s) it's in and sometimes we only want to see where it is at in the layers list without opening the groups. So a blue highlight that automatically updates when the layer is selected (and preferrable an optional scroll to) is all we need (and I believe we always had in at least v1).
