  1. Thanks for the help. This forum is awesome and so are the people on it!

My problems have all been successfully solved.

It's a shame that the original pixel layer size is completely lost, however. The program itself still knows it, so just adding the ability to switch units in the transform panel from px, to % original for instance would solve this and make workarounds unnecessary. Perhaps for 2.x?

I'm already more productive than in Photoshop/ Illustrator (after 20+ years), so thanks to Serif for a great product.

    Best regards,

    Frank

  2. Hi,

I've spent the last 5 days doing my first non-Adobe project with Affinity Designer and there are few things that I just cannot figure out and that are driving me nuts. Any help would be much appreciated?

    1. resizing a vector clipping object without resizing the clipped content

I've got a few circles and rectangles that I use to clip pixel layers (screenshots) underneath. I paste the pixel layer, draw a shape above it and use the layer palette to drag the pixel layer "beneath" the shape to clip them. So far so good.

Now how do I resize the shape without resizing the pixel layer beneath? The only way I've found is to move the pixel out, resize the shape and put the pixel layer back "beneath". (Aaarghh!!)

    2. resizing a pixel layer to a percentage of its original size

I love the non-destructive pixel layers in Affinity Designer. Much better than having to create a Smart Object for them in Photoshop, but losing the original sizing information is almost as bad as losing resolution. If screenshots aren't sized to a particular fraction of the original size they become blurry. I have found the well hidden resize by percentage trick in the Transform Studio thingy, but where can I  retrieve the original size?

    3. exporting artboards via the Export persona to a size that is different from that of the source artboard

Basically it would be most convenient to simply work in 1/1 pixel mode and leave all the scaling for the export step. So if I have an artboard that is say 1880x900 px and I need an exported image of 960px width, where and how can I specify this?

At the moment, I keep the artboard the right size for exporting, but that means messing around with screenshot components at weird scaling levels (say 37.89% of original).

Thank in advance for your help!

    Best regards,

    Frank
