  1. Well along these same lines if my suggestion of allowing procedural generation of noise/waves on shapes is too hard then maybe add more shapes. Right now many of the 'fancy' shapes are like gear etc - circular. What about allow rectangular shapes with crenellations (ie like a castle wall) or saw (series of triangles), sharkfin, bulb (like old lightbulbicon, neck with circle attached) and so on. Then using booleans plus these shapes you could come up with a lot more unusual shapes.
  2. Had to swing by the house to pick something up some quickly did this. Select all the layers, or different layers and hit the different Boolean operators (top right of designer) then see what happens, hit CTRL+Z to undo and then try the next one. These are just random shapes here but hopefully gives you an idea. sample.afdesign
  3. Hi Christopher. Not exactly the same but if you go to the shapes - say the gear or star (sorry not at my usual desk right now for screen shots) and drag that out, you can then add other shapes and select them all. Then use the Boolean operations in the top right of the screen to combine, add, subtract etc. Play around with each one so you can see. By fidddling with the shapes, number of points and all the properties and using the bool operators I was able to come up with a few different shapes once they were combined. I can try to post an example later if you get stuck. I'll be out most of the day though. The sine etc wave generator would still be cool.
  4. Well no sooner did I post this then I see I can do something similar with the Boolean operations and shapes. Cool.
  5. Hi. I just purchased Affinity Designer and working on my first project to get use to it - probably too soon for a suggestion but hate to waste a (possible) good idea. :) I was drawing a wavy border around the composition and wanted it to be more regular. I could use the pen tool and a layer with an oval as a sort of guide but was thinking it might be cool if you could draw a shape - say an ellipse and apply a sine, triangle, square and sawtooth wave forms with a slider of sorts to adjust magnitude and then you could further tweak the result with the node tool but you'd have a fast start. Of course someone will jump in and tell me that feature is buried in here somewhere in which case ignore the greenie.
