  1. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think that’s because you are using Documents through the native Files app, which shows the previews correctly but comes with its own ‘shortages’: you cannot erase the files stored in Documents, and overall you have limited management control. But if you can share a screenshot within Documents itself, and the previews are still in place, I take it all back of course🙂
  2. Now looking behind, my post looks rather disrespectful, which wasn’t my intention. All the best!
  3. Yesterday (again!) someone asked on twitter (if affinity software will be available to android), to which Serif has responded “Sorry, there are no current plans for an Android version.” So while I agree that no (decent) discussion should ever be discouraged, makes little sense (to me) to encourage a subject officially closed by Devs themselves (numerous times).
  4. I use the native Files app (for both iCloud and local files), because “documents by riddle” lacks preview for Affinity saved projects by over a year, so despite being superior for file management to Files, it’s of no use to me (this is not a new issue; has been like this for years). I never use the dedicated Affinity folder. I save from inside the file I work on — “documents”, “save as” — to a local folder (which I backup in iClouds later — I don’t use files directly from iCloud because if they’re large I always have to wait for the files to “download” and become available, which is time consuming. All the best!
  5. Affinity apps on iPad are amazing, I don’t criticize Serif and I definitely understand (and appreciate) why there’s no ETA for anything. If devs acknowledge, or if on the contrary they don’t deem a ram increase for newer iPads important at all, we’ll probably know when the (eventual) update is ready, but 5 months later the limit of RAM for M1 iPad Pro seems to remain under 3GB, regardless of the project’s complexity, despite Apple letting developers use as much as 6gb ram for newer iPad Pro models. For what is worth, other creative apps such as Nomad and Procreate (which I both love) have updated their apps to take advantage of the improved ram (both up to 6) months ago. I also understand that an increase in ram usage could be dependent on other factors (apparent from Air 5 presentation) that devs are not yet open to talk about. Please forgive my blabbering. Respectfully, iuli
  6. I agree with you. For us living in Eastern Europe or other not-so economically developed countries, or for poor students all around the world barely staying afloat, over 100 euros for a product (if it’s purchased multiple times for different machines) is not cheap. Add to that how much we spend for a lot of expensive Affinity Store add-ons and you end up spending quite a lot. (Of course Affinity is cheaper than other software, everyone knows that. That’s their business model, that’s what works best for them — they’re very new in business and in my opinion it’s impossible for any new vector/raster software competitor to fight the industry standard with anything else but lower price.) So I think your idea — the complete suite for iPad+Desktop+Mac as a one time payment at a discount aimed at people who would restrict themselves to only a working machine otherwise — is great, and beneficial to both parties. And who knows, maybe in the (very, very) distant future, we’ll have such option. All the best!
  7. At first I had in mind 512 but in the end I opted for 256GB cellular. Even without cellular (which I only used a handful of times in over a 8 months) and no constant iCloud connection, I think 256GB are plenty.
  8. If your Uncle™ works for Serif now’s the right time to spill the beans 🙂
  9. If I save the file to iCloud while there is no internet connecting, I get an “upload error” in iCloud and as soon as the internet in back on, the file is being updated. No issues in AP itself. If the file is stored locally, saving it with or without internet connection results in no errors/issues. (I’m on and off internet all the time while working with AP or AD; never had issues when saving files, but maybe that’s because I always save from inside the project — “document/ save a copy” and that way I can save locally with no issue if I have no internet, or in iCloud if there is internet connection.) All the best.
  10. More on the subject — on Affinity’s twitter account someone asked: “Does this mean Publisher is coming to iPad – shortly? That would be the dream! to which Affinity replied: 😉 Publisher for iPad, and most importantly STUDIOLINK, look to be very, very, very close to a release date; just around the corner. Maybe as soon as next week, Tuesday or Thursday. It would be just before the official release of M1 iPad Air. I HAVEN’T BEEN SO EXCITED GRAPHIC-WISE SINCE THE RELEASE OF AFFINITY DESIGNER FOR iPad! (I know, this is pure speculation and without any official comments, we might have to wait who-knows-how-much-more for this to happen. But 2 years of waiting, forgive me going out of my mind for a bit 🙂)
  11. That’s a great catch, and thanks for sharing! M1 iPad Air “arrives 18 March” so it seems that Affinity Publisher is inches away of being officially announced for iPad. I think that would make little sense for Apple to promote its new M1 iPad with an app that would not be available at iPad’s launch. It seems reasonable to believe so.
  12. One year later, HSL still lacks color picker. Maybe you keep this feature for 2.0, (as you do with importing color swatches) in which case 2.0 version I hope it will be available later this year. (And if that’s the case, please bring all the desktop feature over to iPad and make the app just as expensive as the desktop counterpart — we will purchase again no matter the price; I think there’s no reason to hind important features behind a smaller price, and M1 iPad Pro is powerful enough) Kind regards!
  13. Got my answer through an easy workaround. Connecting the styles’ fill tool handles to an axis and maintaining the same length when applying to different shapes gives the same style size no matter the shapes applied. All the best!
  14. Hello! I’m working on a project where I have to apply pixel-perfect halftones to a multitude of vector files. I found out that making my seamless patterns halftones into styles and applying them like so is of a huge help, but I don’t know how to maintain the exactly same dimensions for every pattern style that I apply, over multiple projects which have files of vary dimensions. I am aware of workarounds that could give an approximate same-size, but that’s not what I need. The halftone points/lines need to be of the exact same size across the project. I specifically ask this for the iPad version, if anyone has an idea. Kind regards! Ex:
  15. I agree that more filters for designer for iPad would be great; the iPad versions are not connected in a trinity of apps such their PC equivalent are, therefore changing apps for simple task is frustrating and time consuming. (deleted the rest)
  16. Please consider adding splitscreen for iPad. From all graphic software I know of Affinity is the only one not supporting split-screen. iOS 15 is all about multitasking which Affinity software lacks completely. Kind regards.
  17. I just tried Adobe Capture for iPad (because I needed to vectorize some huge patterns for a project), following your advice. The results are plain fantastic and the ability to share directly to Affinity apps is surprising. I hope they won’t take away this feature and limit the sharing to CC to force a subscription, as they did in the past with other apps. Thanks again. All the best!
  18. I’m sure you’re well aware of the nature of the “vector” affinity brushes (the vector brush tool doesn’t support true vectors) but in case you’re still “unsure”, I have bought the DAUB Caligo set and they are, as 100% expected, raster elements applied on vector curves. I know you’re not doing raster work but just for the sake of saying it, if anyone else wonders if they’re any good, these are probably the best nibs and inks brushes in affinity store. The dries and blenders are fantastic too. All the best!
  19. Hello and thank you for your quick reply! I had purchased both Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo for iPad through AppStore years ago. I understand that my OP is not clear so I apologize for it as I try to explain my issue better: I want to purchase a set of brushes from Affinity Store called Daub Caligo, which is 30% off because of Black Friday campaign. I cannot purchase because apparently Affinity Store doesn’t support PayPal for my country Romania. Kind regards! EDIT: SIMPLY CHANGING THE COUNTRY TO US HAS HELPED WITH MY ISSUE! Now everything is ok, I can purchase if I set my country to US. Thanks for the quick reply again!
  20. Hello! I want to purchase Daub Caligo for Affinity Designer for iPad but the payment method I can use (PayPal) is not supported for my country Romania? Unfortunately we are currently unable to support PayPal payments for your Affinity Account country. Im sorry but in twelve years I never had issues buying with my PayPal account from digital stores so I have to ask, is this an error? Is there anything that can be done? Kind regards and thanks in advance!
