Jowday: Seems to export just fine as SVG for me in a very quick test (see attached image) but further checking would need to be done.

You and I are two individuals - thats why these decisions ultimatively should be made by a professional with responsibility for the the whole user interface across all apps. Workflows included. And a professional with extensive knowledge about users and workflows. User testing etc.
The point though - about the studio - and other settings popping up when you create adjustment layers is that if you do not have the studio open - or if you are working in full screen view - you can create these adjustment layers and not have to look for settings. In those scenarios it is easier to hit ESC than to look for something.
In a program like Photo I would personally have the color studio closed/hidden and in Photo the color picker is removed from the tools toolbar when it is set to one column view (Photoshops shows a smaller one).
Many variables - and lots and lots of work for a user experience designer.

I don't think Serif will ever focus on advanced vector tools in Designer - I don't see any traces of such intentions and they certainly didn't hire vector gfx specialists recently. Nor did they allocate time to the single one they have who was and is in fact struggling to get booleans and expand stroke to work properly for years. If is was due to lack of qualifications, it is a disaster. If it was due to lack of business priorities that fixing these issues were put on hold for years, it is a disaster that tells you how little vector features means to Serif.
It is quite obvious that the developers involved in VectorStyler are extremely qualified. They certainly also have higher ambitions algorithm-wise / output-wise.

Their marketing is very fond of using the term "professional" - a market segment they are not actually ready for with their current products and algorithms - and a market segment they simply didn't penetrate at all. For obvious reasons - those reasons.

I would be nice if editing a macro showed the actual parameters of a step rather than just the category  and would let you change a parameter.  For example a resize would show how much it was being resized and whether it was resampling, etc.

Working with Masks is greater than in any other application I have worked with so far, the ease of having child layers and being able to stack a mask over the other truly is amazing.
However...
One thing that I have found disorienting is that when I use the colour picker tool, rather than picking a value of black an white from the mask that I am working on, Afphoto decides to pick a colour from the Parent Layer (Even when the Source is set to "Current Layer" while having the mask selected).
Even though working a mask will only paint with the luminosity value of the sample taken, as you may well know, the values on the Parent Layer are part of a whole and having the Colour Picker Tool to take a sample from the Parent Layer and not the Mask you are working on results in picking an unwanted value when I am actually trying to pick a shade of gray that has already been used on said mask
In the long run this means that for me to be able to take the desired sample, I must go to the colour wheel / sliders manually and try to guess what that value was or take my attention away from the whole and having to isolate the mask to get the value that I want.
If the colour picker could be adjusted in a way that it picks the shades of gray FROM the mask while working INSIDE the mask it could certainly enhance workflow speed and consistency.

I am lost here, why would you want to buy it on Steam when there are 3 valid and simple options out there. Mac App Store, Windows App Store and direct from Serif. Is the only reason to see how much time you have spent using the software? Pretty bizarre I think, not sure why that is important and if it really is there are plenty of time clock options out there that you can start up every time you open up the apps. 

I prefer that Designer spare me these clicks and activate the color picker directly - the more the better. There are so many required extra clicks and actions in Affinity.

It is weird that objects can be placed outside the canvas but that this "feature" is not included in Photo. But in Publisher and Designer.

Hi, 
Writing any kind of text without knowing how long that actually is in a digital environment is really making my head spin.
I'm writing a thesis now and that would become really helpful, if I knew how many characters I'm at. I've written the plain text elsewhere, but since I've started formatting the thing, I'm adding and reducing stuff in Publisher - silly me thought it would be a good idea - now I'm wasting a lot of time to copy and paste.:(
Could it be added as a feature request? I haven't seen anyone replying from Serif. @MEB?
A total count would be really nice to have (sentences, words, characters with or w/o spaces), ideally I imagine a small interface with all the text styles, where you can tick a checkbox to include a certain style in the count or not (similar to the TOC interface).
