Oh I see what happened. 2.2.0 was released by mistake.
Now I have a problem, as I am working on a file that no longer opens. In swapping back to 2.1.1: I can no longer open it.
Can I get access to 2.2.0. so I can carry on?Wow, what a total nightmare, in stopping to fix a small problem, I now have a massive problem.

Well, no matter what I do I cannot replicate this, once pasted into Design it only allows selection, double clicking with move tool shows table node points.
Thats it.I wonder what is diffeent, I have 2.1.1: installed as well.

This is really odd, something changed in V2 as you used to be able to fully edit table, albeit without the panels.
See sreen shot of an old label I just opened in design from V1.
I can even duplicate this within the program. You can see the table panels still show up.

In the past I'd copied and pasted tables from Publisher into Design and this worked well, but now this no longer seems to work. if you now try this it beaks the table into component parts ie: you lose all table functions.
I'd had a look at video tutorials online and searched the internet and forums for the same question. Is there a table function in design, I cannot find a tool or palette to deal with tables. This seems like an obvious function to have in Design, is it really limited to Publisher?
I'm sure someone knows the answer to this?

I seem to be having problems exporting to PDF. The issue occurs when ticking the 'include hyperlinks'.
As soon as this is unticked, it works. All presets produce the same outcome, error exporting.
I have tried all the included export options, if they have 'include hyperlinks' export fails.
It has to be something I've overlooked in the DOC, any ideas, I'm sure its something small.Thanks!

Thank you for the information, very interesting.
Perhaps this feature it will get included in an update.
Setting up UI can be tedious, I spend a few hours setting it all in V2.
But at least there is an option to save the current settings, which is great.

As V2 are all Apps on Windows - they magically vanish - so not easy to access them 🙂
Nice to know Mac does not have this issue.

Yes, I'd done this - but was thinking more as something you could store indepently from the program in case you want to reset or reinstall.
Like the export keyboard shortcuts .afshorts or assets etc.

Oh, thats interesting. So it would seem there is no backup at the moment.
It’s odd as you can save keyboard shortcuts - but not the desktop workspace (strange priority). Why not just back up keyboard and workspace as these are the things you would want to migrate. I guess its easy to pick holes in the software once done 🙂

I'd just upgraded to V2 - great stuff, overall very happy.
I noted there is a save stuio preset, which is nice, but I cannot see how to export that?Is there a way to do that, as setting up the workspace takes quite a bit of time, if its possible to save this, would be super-dooper.

I set a book 400 pages + in 2 page spread, but now discover Kindle likes a single page PDF.
When I 'uncheck' facing pages it converts to single page but something becomes problematic as the file after that is really buggy.
It opens slowly or shows 'file not responding' tag at the top of the screen.
Also some of the page layout is wrong etc.Is this a known issue? I could not see another post about this specific issue.
I don't really want to reset all the text, so is there a better way to convert from 2 page to single page?

I've tried this a number of times now and its still not doing what you thought it should do.
If you do an isolated text box it converts into the correct text, if its on a page with other text boxes it remains the same.
Sorry, I know this is a pain, but if its possible to resolve it will same me a ton of work.

Hi and thanks for swift reply. This is interesting.
So it seems to work when it’s an isolated text box, however when I export the whole book it does not seem to work.
I include 2x jpegs below which show the results on the actual book. I also attach 1x Pub file and the resultant PDF after print to export.
Any more thoughts as to what is happening will be gratefully received. This book is turning into a total nightmare :-).

Im not sure where the original text was complied. It might have be possible to put it together in word, but I know a lot of the indic guys use Linux and other software, so its possible the originator did it on another system/software.
This is a book to be printed on Kindle Direct.
I usually export to PDF and upload etc.
Is there a way to export to PDF file (making sure the right version of the text is saved) that could then be uploaded to Kindle?That would save so much time.
I really don't want to a add static graphics to every page, that would be such a pain.I have Phantom Foxit software, but still need to get it from a .afpub to PDF.

I found a few other posts relating to Devanargari/Sanskrit, these were from 2020 so maybe they were not able to address it yet.
OK, seems I will need to insert images so get around it. Hassle, but no other option.

No, Libreoffice is the same. Weird you can copy from Word to Libre Office with no change in formatting.
I also tried in AfPhoto and AfDesign, just in case I had ticked somthing weird in Publisher, alas, nope.
It looks like I will have to export as an image and place in the text. I wonder if anyone has posted this on youtube?

I'm downloading Libreoffice and see if that yelids better results than word.
I turned off spell check also, but it made no difference.
Nightmare - haha.

That would be a nightmare, I only have Publisher.
I wondered if it was a spell check issue and when I go to check spelling it shows the right character in the spell checker.
Why would that be?A.

I seem to have another issue with the same text, I'd not noticed - was concentrating on the roman script with discritics, but it seems the Sanskrit is being changed when I use the EDIT>PASTE SPECIAL>UNICODE function.
I'll have to gop back and change what I've done as its all wrong - I should have checked 😞
Any ideas why this text is being changed. In the original Word file its Arial Unicode MS, as is the pasted text in Publisher.
I have no font substituition set up. Thanks in advance and sorry to bother again.Andrew

If you use Word files just for sources for collecting data, I would place them directly in Publisher via File > Place (on the pasteboard, off the page) and then copy paste the required parts in the final text from there, as that would keep both the formatting and correct Unicode encoding.
