  1. So that's what the little rectangle means, that fixed it! thanks for your help dutchshader
  2. I'm just learning AD so, to practice, I imported 4 tif scans of a schematic and am redrawing it as one picture. So I started with all the resistors, there are about 20 and then decided to put them in a layer. So I hit the Add Layer button and then started dragging the resistors into that layer. And they just disappear from view. ALL THE STUFF I TRIED: The layer and the resistors are check marked to be visible. I did a "move to front" on the layer. I played around with the fill and stroke of the layer. None of this works. All I see, once I make the original tif layers hidden, is the "nothing to show" checkerboard pattern, with all my un-layered resistors still displayed, but the ones inside the new layer don't show. If I select the layer in the layer panel, a blue outline appears, apparently to show the area taken up by the 2 resistors I placed inside. I also tried drawing something new inside the layer, and no dice, that stuff doesn't appear either. How do I get the resistors to not be hidden? I have the book, it doesn't go into this very deeply, probably because layers aren't supposed to be so deep you have to have a book. Attached files show part of the blue outline of the layer and some of the non-layered resistors. Other attachment shows the layer panel with Layer1 at top and 2 "curves", they're all check marked. thanks, Rik
