Simple thing to do in photoshop is to copy a black and white image and then paste it into already existing mask layer. In affinity photo, I try to paste an image into a mask layer but it just pastes a duplicate outside of the mask layer instead of inside of it. Is that because a mask layer is only vector and not pixel based? Or is this not a possible technique? Dragging the image into the mask layer does nothing as well but creates an icon next to the mask layer but appears to do nothing.
