  1. Yeah, it does help. I've been using Photo to invert the mask, but I hope they do implement the elegant way in the near future!
  2. Good to know I'm not alone dealing with this bug/lack of feature. I just hope it gets implemented soon! I agree there should be more often updates. There are many small changes to be tweaked.
  3. You guys know that if you ctrl+click on a layer image you get it's contour as a selection. That said, in Photoshop, it is possible to ctrl+click on a first layer and ctrl+shift+click on other layers to add to that initial selection. I couldn't do this on AD or AP. Is it possible to be done? Showcase: First I ctrl+click, then I try to ctrl+shift+click on the other layers. SHOWCASING.mp4
  4. So, I just realized that clicking once (without dragging) on the end point changes it's mode to sync/no sync. I'm almost always using a wacom, so it's a little harder to click without slightly moving, thus, I didn't realize it before. Anyway, the alt modifier will do it nicely. Thanks for all the answers!
  5. I understood that, but I can't find a way to click on the single dot and "deselect" the other one. I'm not in my pc now, but I'll check it out. I'll write back when I test it out.
  6. Hello! So, I've been having some trouble with the pressure curve points. I don't remember if it had also occurred on Designer, but it's pretty common in Photo. I create a line and, when I'm going to set a custom curve, the first and last points are moving in sync. How can I solve this? Sometimes, after lots of clicking, I get them to move individually. Check it out: 2018-09-27_01-00-11.mp4
  7. This method is pretty limited, but it's a nice technique to have in the pocket. Thanks for sharing, firstdefence. Yes, I'm pretty sure by now it was done by hand. I was just wondering if there wouldn't be another way to do it. You are right. The author is Tobias Saul. The man is a beast with lettering and typography. I've just found this video showcasing the process of "Be Strong". Nice workaround, gdenby. This idea is interesting. I might try to improve on it. _____ So, I'll stick to the premise that it's best to do the inner lines by hand, using the pen tool.
  8. Thanks for sharing, hengkidh. This is the method that I also know, but I was wondering if there's any other way to do it, not by hand. I could get close to it using multiple strokes (as layer effect) on photoshop, so I'm trying to find another way in Affinity.
  9. Hello! How can I create this thin lines, as seen inside the word FAIRNESS and STRONG below? Is it done by hand, with the pen tool?
  10. I totally understand. It's just that I've always been a shortcut user. By the way, using the thumb for Ctrl+N is pretty uncomfortable. I prefer pinky (on left ctrl) and index, using a single hand. Thumb is useful if you're using the right ctrl. Hope you find a good workaround, or that persona stops messing with you.
  11. I'd recommend you to forget the menu. Ctrl+N and beware a faster workflow. The menu should exist only as a reference for shortcuts.
  12. That's a good workaround, alfred. But it wouldn't help when the scrubbing is best needed. That is, scaling single words/letters individually. When I need to scale the whole text, I can simply click and drag the whole box around the text. Is there any pop-up in mac version?
  13. Seems like I can't. I tried scrubbing everywhere. Could you check it later and return? It's wonderful to find specific fonts or check only a certain kind of type in the context.
  14. Hello, buddies! I have quite a hard time managing and changing fonts in both AP and AD, but one of the features I miss the most is the possibility to filter all my fonts to their specific families: serif, slab serif, sans, script, decorative, etc. Is it possible to be done? If not, will it be implemented? Also, is there any way of changing font size clicking 'n' dragging in the icon, like Photoshop? The only solution I've found so far to ease the size modification (as defined numbers aren't really a big help) is assigning the commands to increase and decrease to shortcuts, like Ctrl+Alt+>. All suggestions are welcome! Thanks.
  15. Thanks for your contribution, RC-R. But wouldn't it be easier to just start out with the smart mode? Here it is the comparison. By the way, I feel like I have more control doing the curves by hand with the pen tool, without requiring much extra time. How exactly could I insert the pattern as a bitmap? I would put the pattern inside the shape, like a clipping mask.
  16. What I meant was more like adding the extra space in the document size. If paper is 60x60cm, you could create a document with dimensions 63x63cm. Not saying this is the optimal way.
  17. Thanks a lot for helping out, guys. So, my method for making striped line squares seems to be in alignment with yours. If anyone else has a different method, please, share! gdenby made the polka dot shape easier with the dot-stroke, also. The abstract rounded corners shape works as you've shared too. Funny is that I've tried it back then and it didn't work at all. I swear I did the same thing. Well, nevermind. The curved line is somewhat misleading. It can be achieved through zig-zag line + corner tool, but I couldn't make it nicely. I made it with the pen tool (aligning with the grid) and the result was much better and closer to that reference. Still, if anyone has a different method, teach the community.
  18. So, I'm about to show you 4 simple (and pretty common) graphic design elements, but I confess I'm dying to learn how to make them properly! 1. What's the proper way to make this diagonal striped square? I'd power duplicate all the lines and put a square mask to cut them. 2. Similarly, what about this one? I'd make one circle, power duplicate until I have a line, then power duplicate the line. After all this, the mask. 3. How can I make this abstract shapes? No need to explain the texture, just the shape. I would make a rectangle with rounded corners and add them, but I wouldn't get the right curvatures. 4. In the same image, there are these "curly" lines. How? I admit I'd take the pen tool and make lots of points, trying to replicate the curves perfectly. After all these confessions, would you help a friend in need? Thanks!
  19. Mhm. I know this [wonderful] option, but I was thinking about a faster integration. Not that it changes much in the end.
