I agree! I’m just glad, in the iPad, it’s now easy to at least move them when your category list goes off screen!
-
In version 1.9.1 and previous at least, using the procedural texture and selecting a type from the drop down list finds it unusable from that direction. After tapping the selected texture format, the previously used format is shown, with the adjustments of that previous format and the selected format does not work. It is only after using the arrows to move up and down the list.

No, I have not. These work with Mac, though, so hence still th confusion.

Why is it some .abr brushes, when trying to import into pixel persona in Designer on iPad, they are not recognized and remain greyed out and un-selectable? These same brushes, from an SD card source, work successfully when importing to pixel persona in Designer on my Mac.

@Callum
Thank you so much. -
I am having issues with moving brushes from one category to another that is. It listed in the list of categories shown on screen. I can’t scroll up to find the appropriate category. Is this a bug?

I can't answer your question, Dave, but I have one for you.
You say you want to export your TIFF with the Affinity layers included so you don't "lose" your documents.
How do you think you might lose them? Wouldn't simply saving them as .afdesign files ensure that you have a copy?
And are you aware that only the Affinity applications will be able to use those "Affinity layers"? Normal TIFF files do not have layers, and saving the Affinity data in a TIFF file involves using tags and data formats that are known only to Affinity, and not documented by Serif for other programs to use.
update: I just was so involved with exporting I overlooked the SaveAs option to save .afdesign format. Duh
I have some updates that required a restart and didn't want to lose any progress, and for some reason I couldn't save the document with layers to be able to go back an edit. I cannot remember how to save simply as .afdesign files when the only option to save layers is in .tiff format.
And yes, I am very much aware Affinity files are only compatible with Affinity apps..

If you have Vector layers (curves or shapes) these would need to be rendered as pixels for a TIFF file so you would lose them anyway.
Not with SaveAffinity Layers ticked. All layers, pixel or no, are saved

My apologies. I forgot to specify Affinity Designer for Mac w/ver 1.7.3. I’ve been able to save with layers before but as of late am seemingly not allowed.

Why would Save Affinity layers be greyed out while trying to export .tiff files? I have a few documents I would like to export so as not to lose them.

I am attempting to organize my brushes and consolidate them into manageable categories. I find it difficult, when moving brushes from one category to another, when selecting one brush to move and the category you want to put it in is off screen with no way to scroll up or down to find the desired category. It selects a category where your finger lands on and inserts it there. I even tried two finger scrolling to no avail. I think a scrolling feature here would work great.

I, too, would like to "remember" which brush was last used - not just a recently used. Switching from more than one pixel layer, it would nice if the last brush used was highlighted within the brushes studio at least.
I know that using multiple brushes within one pixel layer, showing which ones were used would be nigh impossible. Remembering the last should be doable. I’ve often switched layers, and upon going back to the one using a brush, the difficulty in identifying which brush was used can be vexing.

Be been trying to get FF7 to work as a plug-in with AP 1.6.7 on the Mac, but nothing happens. Apparently this is a known issue? I’ve tried contacting Filter Forge about it but as of yet have gotten no response at all. I feel they’re being petty as I just recently grabbed a free promo license key for it instead of paying. Not encouraging me to plunk down cash, though.

Very nice! Ty!

It would be nice opinions the Swatches and Color panels in Affinity Designer on iPad would match the capability of the desktop version it’s regards to creating palettes from a placed image or from a file, as well as other features that are lacking.

As I understand it, reading the help manual, Lock is suppose to prevent any alteration to the layer/object. I’ve found employing Lock only prevents it from being transformed, while still alllowing other alterations such as color changes and FX to be applied. This could be a bug or a wrongly written definition within the manual.

Can there be a way to share assets and symbols across devices? Making one on an iPad and then using it on a Mac or vice verse, would be greatly beneficial. Other than placing them within a document and staring that between devices, and then adding them to a category seems really cumbersome and frankly, unintuitive and clunky for such powerful software

Would like to have the choice of either front or rear iPad camera for importing images.
Procedural Texture selections not following selection from list
in V1 Bugs found on iPads
Posted
Within AP 1.9.1 (and earlier), using the procedural texture filter doesn’t work with regards to the drop down list of textures. And, as can be seen the the video, even starting out (for me) it’s wonky and not updating the contextual menu. When tapping on the name of the texture to bring up the list and then selecting another texture, all that is updated is the name with the controls for the previous texture, and the only way to update the menu is by using the forward/backward arrows to scroll through the list, negating the ease of selecting from a drop down list.
I am on an iPad Pro 10.5" with iOS 14.4, but this bug was present in earlier iOS versions and AP versions.
