  1. There doesn't seem to be a way to merge an adjustment layer with the vector objects it is applied to. I already made a post asking about how to accomplish this here: But there doesn't seem to be a practical way to do it. This is frustrating because the HSL layer, for example, is an amazing way to recolor your artwork that is rendered almost useless when you can't merge it with the vector objects it is applied to. Adobe Illustrator has had a recolor feature for years and the only reason I'm not making the switch to AD is this. Merging adjustment layers would fix this issue completely and would be an amazing (and logical) addition to AD.
  2. I want to recolor vector elements in order to change the overall color composition at the early stages of an illustration. If I can’t merge the adjustment layer with the objects, I’ll have to drag the extra layer throughout the rest of the process. Also every time I add an element to the group, the object color of said element will be changed by the adjustment. And if I want to copy one of the elements and paste it in a different group, it will lose the adjusted color. Merging it would be a huge help. Thanks for the advice! I accidentally left the pixel element in there. But if I understand correctly, this doesn’t make a difference when it comes to merging the adjustment with the vector objects, which doesn’t seem to be possible? Unless I make a montage out of them, which would turn them into a single shape with a single color? Generally speaking I'm simply looking for a way to recolor vector objects (like the recolor feature in AI).
  3. I have a layer containing several vector objects. On top of that is an adjustment layer. I need to merge the adjustment layer with the vector objects but the "merge" button in the adjustment layer settings doesn't do anyhing. I also tried adding the adjustment as a child of the object layer or to a single object, but it still doesn't work. I have attached a simple file as an example. How do I merge the layer? 4. Hey carl, are you talking about screenshots? I understand that the resolution of a screenshot of the chart would differ depending on the resolution of the screen where the screenshot was taken. But even then, the aspect ratio would be the same, even when moving the file between screens (unless one screen is stretched or something), or am I misunderstanding your comment? Either way, the chart was not copied as a screenshot. It was copied directly from Excel via Ctrl+C and then pasted into AD. I dont see how the screen resolution would play any role here. Am I wrong?
  5. Huh. I just noticed that the same thing happens when I paste into Illustrator. Weird.
  6. Hi Sean, thanks for the quick reply! I'm using Office Professional Plus 2016. My exact Excel version number is as follows: 16.0.4266.1001 I attached the Excel file I used. Thanks for providing the test chart. When I copy the original (left) and paste it (right), it's still squashed. I then used Paste Special, and these are the individual results: (From left to right: PNG, Enhanced Windows Metafile, Windows Metafile, Device Independent Bitmap) As you can see, number 2 and 3 are squashed. The two pixel based formats look fine, but are pretty much unusable, because vector editing capabilities are crucial here. Thanks again for your help and best wishes from Germany. Test.xlsx
  7. Hello Everyone, I'm new to Affinity Designer. :) I tried copying and pasting a diagram from Excel to Affinity Designer. When inserted into Designer, however, the diagram is squashed. Original (Excel) Pasted (into Designer) Since AD doesn't have any dedicated diagram tools yet, copy/pasting from Excel and editing in AD seems to be the next best thing. However, even a slight distortion makes the diagram unusable. Am I missing something?
