  1. Interestingly I had a problem where the program locked up when I tried to change text styles. I downloaded the latest version and did an update I am now on version 1.8.5.703 As a workaround I dragged the right hand linked frame off the page to an area below the left hand frame and then I managed to edit the what was then the upper frame. A bit of a messy way to do things as I couldn't see the text lower doaw as it dissapears off the background. Does this get reported as a bug?
  2. I have spent hours trying to find out how to edit text in linked frames. I have two linked frames in 2 colums on one page but can't select any text in the first (left hand) frame. I can select the left hand frame but when I try to select a word to edit a word it higlights text in the right hand linked frame. How di i do this please?
  3. How do i open a PDF? The manual says; from the file menu click open and then from the PDF options i should have a choice. There is no choice on the 'open' dialogue and clicking the PDF results in an error 'the file could not be parsed' What have I missed? Thanks
  4. Publisher locks up when I select a new file on startup and also with an existing file. The only way out is to select End Task 'publisher' in the file manager. I am unable to select any menu item or select anything from any of the studio pallets. The cursor moves but nothing else can be done. Under some situations I can't even select the task bar on the PC to select the Task Manager and my only option was to use Ctrl\Alt\Del, although having the browser window open may have some relevance. The issue is connected to the Text Styles tab on the studio pallet. The issue only occurs when I have the Show Samples option selected in Text styles. Once selected there is no way out other than to shut down and re-start. I then have to turn off the option before anything else. Any suggestions? I think this may be a bug, but I am unable to select bug reporting on the forum Windows 10 PC AMD FX 6 core processor 16Gb RAM Radeon hd Graphics card Updated 15/12/19 (Fresh Install)
  5. I find the current table formatting system really difficult. Using the table studio tool to resize a column width the adjcent colum is shrunk. This results in the column width being too small to select that column to resize it. Trying to drag the column with at the top of the table is not much easier. The arrows selection area is soo small and sensitive that I keep creating a new table. In page plus it was far easier to OLE a table and then resize
  6. Tabs, of course. The hanging indent in the numbered list. That never occured to me. I looked at each frame and the story break was at the end of each one. The anchor; i found a refrence to hyperlinks but had not included any. However if the text flows outside of the frame an anchor appears. I had several returns at the end of a single line of text the anchor appears, something to do with linking frames, but I dont usually do that. there used to be a red block at the bottom right to click to link a frame in page plus. New software.... Huge learning curve! Many Thanks
  7. Thank you all. I enabled show special characters but that didn't really help. The carriage return I reccognised, but the 2 chevrons and the anchor symbol I don't know what they mean, along with the double interlinked S's at the end. Is there a table anywhere giving an explanation? The easiest way was to remove the carrage returns in the original word document, and then apply the numbering. I found Page Plus easier in this respect because of the text editor 'Write Plus'
  8. When I import text into publisher it places any blank lines that were in the original text. Then when I apply text styles; font , colour, and numbered lists it numbers the blank lines. How do i stop this from happening?
