  1. Thanks v_kyr, that makes complete sense! I'm used to designing web pages using html and css to create page sections and incorporate prepared graphics, so the idea of organising the look of the thing using a graphics prog hadn't really appealed to me. However, I can see the appeal now... Thanks again!
  2. Thanks for the reply, and for the link, which I had in fact read before submitting my enquiry. The reply to the (linked) post states it's to "quickly build graphical user interfaces for applications" (which seem to be web-page interfaces), so as far as I can tell, it is used to output (as I mentioned) a single graphic, composed of many different elements (assets). But that would mean, for instance, that text would be exported as a graphic, not as (highlight & copyable) text. It's the interactivity aspect I don't get. For instance, whilst it would be possible to indicate clickable links in text (e.g. by making the text blue), that text could not be made to change hue to indicate a previously-followed link. Drop-down boxes and text entry fields would be impossible. This seems ridiculous to me - so I'm assuming it's my understanding that's defective!
  3. Recently bought AD, going through the tutorials, but still have no clue what the UI kit is for. I have a basic web-design background, and don't understand how creating a page in affinity relates to creating user interaction (e.g. how to make the buttons 'work'), or how the 'finished' design is published: is it outputted as a single graphic image or wot?
  4. Thank you for persisting there! So for my first post here I'd rather got hold of the wrong end of the stick. Oh well, I've started the way I'll probably carry on... Anyway, ok, I see what you mean. I think. So these .afphoto files provide snapshots of already-completed stages of the operations you perform on the original .tiff? Not sure what for. Just in case you're uncertain whether you got it right? Thanks again!
  5. Thank you, but that's not so. If you take a look, you'll see that on page 144, 'blend mode creativity', it specifies mam_tor.afphoto (in my copy of the workbook anyway). I'm not sure what the "(02. blend mode creativity snapshot)" refers to.
  6. First post here... I'm using mam_tor.afphoto. In the af workbook, p144, 'Blend mode creativity', it says: 1 select the curves adjustment layer 2 add new adjustment layer > black & white adjustment and then perform processes: red picker to -200%, yellow to 0%, blue & cyan to 50%. I see that there is already a 'black & white adjustment' layer above the curves layer, ticked for 'visibility'. It is already set to 'overlay', the opacity already on 60%, the red picker is -200%, the yellow is on 0%, and blue & cyan are at 50%, i.e. the settings you're supposed to make in your new layer... I'm assuming the inclusion of this layer is an oversight in the sample image file. P.S. Also the 'clarity' live filter, as per 'creating a moody sky' page 146: already there, also 'selective colour adjustment' (p148), and the 'unsharp mask' (p150). In fact, looks to me like all the changes are already included... And it won't export. mam_tor2.afphoto
