  1. Hi It would be really useful to have a selection button in the photo persona (as in the develop persona) to show blown highlights (and lowlights) please. I am relatively new to affinity having migrated from lightroom/occasional photoshop use and this is the one thing that really stands out as missing (unless you can point me in the right direction). I know you can show this within the levels adjustment layer but that is not the same thing - I know this has been mentioned somewhere else in the forum but I wanted to reiterate how key it is - the product can do so many clever things, it seems strange that this is missing, is there a technical reason why this cannot be achieved? Thank you Jonathan
  2. Thank you Gabe, I can understand where you are coming from. When I started painting on the exposure layer nothing seemed to be happening properly, and so I thought this was because it was not creating the mask as expected. I have now realised this was because my paint brush needed to be set to white to paint over the dark exposure layer, somehow it must have got reset since last time I used it to black so it was doing nothing. thanks you for looking at this Jonathan
  3. Hi Gabe Thank you for your reply. I have uploaded 4 files: _DSC0627.NEF and its .afphoto (this is cropped to square in camera and has the unexpected behaviour) and _DSC0587.NEF and its .afphoto. For the purpose of this exercise I simply opened the raw file in Affinity photo, pressed DEVELOP, then added an exposure layer and inverted it. I then saved the afphoto files with the history. You should be able to see that the nature of the exposure layer is different (it's icon is all dark) in the first file, where as with the second the behaviour appears normal (i.e. it has the white horizontal bars top and bottom). These are very large files so took a long time to upload from the middle-of-nowhere where I live! As a photographer I am new to affinity, so may have misunderstood how to load files in (particularly non-standard sizes). Thank you for your assistance.
  4. Hi I'm having trouble with the layer adjustments. A couple of days ago I was able to add an exposure layer, then invert it and use the paint brush tool to make selective adjustments. When it was inverted the layer icon went from white to black with a white border at the top and bottom. Now whenever I try this the layer just goes from white to black. I guess I must have something else selected but I have spent about 2 hours going back, rewatching tutorial etc. and cannot work out what is going wrong. Please could you advise? Thank you. Ps I have discovered this is something to do with the image crop in camera - so I use a full-frame Nikon D850, when using the standard FX crop it works fine, but when using the square crop in camera (to produce a square file) the inverting of the exposure layer does not seem to work. If I click to the left of the image (i.e. where it would have existed if it had not been cropped) it looks like it is trying to invert the layer mask when I paint and then reverts back to a dark mask? Is this a bug please?
