I think I have been having the same problem. I am trying to use swatches with color overlay (fx) and it does not fill in. I have to use the brush to paint the swatch color onto the layer...then use the color picker for the color overlay to change to the color to a swatch color...lastly I erase the brush stroke. Otherwise, this is a terrific app. iPad iOS Version 11.4 (15F79) Affinity Photo Version 1.6.7
