I'm an architectural photographer that uses HDR extensively; I have Affinity Photo V1, and while the HDR is powerful, perhaps even better than Oloneo, Photomatix and Aurora/HDR Merge, the lack of batch processing for HDR in V1 was a deal breaker. I'm back to looking at new options, and am interested in V2; does V2 offer batch for HDR yet, or plans for it in the future?

Thanks for the offer, but unfortunately a typical job will consist of 500-1000 frames, so I need the batches to be fully automated.

The reason I originally posted this in the discussion forum was in hope that someone might be able to offer a usable work around. I put in a preorder for Aurora HDR 2019, as it has effective chromatic aberration removal; maybe I can batch the HDR files in Aurora, but tonemap in Affinity when I do the rest of the edit.

I posted this as a feature request earlier because I didn't see an obvious way to do it, but it seems like such a no-brainer that I feel like maybe I'm missing something... Every program I have that does HDR has a way to batch process (Oloneo (my current main workhorse), Photomatix, Photoshop, Dynamic Photo, Aurora, etc). What's frustrating is that Affinity shows more promise for my style as an architectural photographer than any of these, but I desperately need batch to be able to use it at all...

I'm an architectural photographer and I like Affinity's HDR ability enough that I would really like to replace Oloneo with Affinity in my HDR in my workflow, but there are a few things that are preventing me from doing so: Most importantly, batch processing is absolutely critical; I see that batch processing is possible for developing individual images, but it doesn't appear to be an option for HDR. This the deal breaker for me. Chromatic aberration correction would be best applied automatically before the HDR processing. With that said, chromatic aberration correction doesn't appear to do anything; the defringe feature seems to make a little difference, but not enough, and is a bit cumbersome and imprecise (in photoshop I know exactly which value to type in for a given lens or focal length). The merging/tonemapping/etc process is very slow compared to some of my other HDR apps, however, this wouldn't be a deal breaker if batch processing was an option. There are some other minor improvements I'd like to see, but these are really what keep me from using or recommending Affinity. You really have a good start though; it pulls highlights that Oloneo, Photomatix, Nik HDR effects, etc can't, and does so cleanly without halos, "smoke damage", color casts, etc. What is also great is that it is so close to being an all-in-one tool, that would eliminate me having to rely on multiple applications for my workflow, so I really have high hopes for Affinity's progression...

I'm curious to what others are using for Image Management with Affinity Photo? I have Lightroom, Bridge and Nikon ViewNX-i, but just not happy with any of them. Until now (just installed Affinity), for my editing I've used mostly Camera Raw/Photoshop CS6 along with various HDR programs (depending on the project), but for organization/managment, just haven't been able to "click" with anything... I've used ViewNX for years (since '04), and while I really like the way it works, it's features, UI, etc, every version has always been excruciatingly slow and plagued with bugs... Bridge is less buggy and a little faster, but a bit clumsy, not quite as intuitive and lacking in some features. I don't use Lightroom in my normal workflow, and as a photo manager I find it terribly unintuitive and it just does not "flow" for me... Some searching brings up a lot of possible options, but I'd like to hear what others have been using with Affinity... For those that know ViewNX, ideally I'd like something like it, except that I can actually depend on without dealing with bugs, freezing, etc...

To add to this... while trying to find a work around, I opened a RAW file and the distortions were not corrected, even though the lens is in the profile list found here: Another good argument for the ability to select and apply profiles manually...

Yep, that looks like the exact same list, at least for the Samyang portion and the Nikkor lenses I use.

I posted earlier regarding the ability to select and apply lens profiles manually, but meanwhile started looking for a temporary "work-around" using the automatic corrections... however, when I open a raw file, the distortions are not corrected, or affected at all. Above the image, it shows the camera model and lens; "Nikon D600 (14mm f/2.8-1.4)", and above that it shows "RAW ISO100 f11 14mm 1/2s"... so it has the lens specs correct, but no mention of the Samyang brand (this lens is in the lensfun list that I found elsewhere in this forum: http://lensfun.sourceforge.net/lenslist/ ). FWIW, "Apply lens corrections" is on in the "develop assistant". Do profiles need to be downloaded and installed separately? Where are the lens profiles kept?

I recently purchased a license to Affinity and was really hoping that by now there would be an option to manually select a lens profile from a list for images that do not contain lens info (ie: non-raw)... could I be missing something? This would be extremely useful... in fact crucial, to my workflow, especially for lenses like the Samyang/Rokinon 14mm that has a complex "moustache" distortions that can't be corrected using the manual correction tools...
