These brushes are vector unfortunately so they can't be used in Photo there is no way to tell until they are imported. Once imported it should show up on the import message (see attached)

    Thanks

Thanks Callum. Not knowing until they're imported means for the future, that I should organise them into separate folders on both my computer & iPad, so that I know which App they will/will not work with. For the computer, as I only have "Photo", I'll know that if , after importing, that they don't appear, they are Vectors & I can put them into separate folders.

    Appreciate your help :-)

  2. Hi,

I'm new to Affinity Photo for Desktop (also have iPad version, but barely used it yet). I imported file containing .abr brushes successfully,, but after importing the second & third batch, they didn't show up in AP. Why? Could it be that they are Vector brushes & not Pixel brushes, or is there another problem? After "Import> select> Open" 'AP' did said that they were "successfully imported", but they're not visible.

Also, If I want to keep different brush packs separate, or have similar types of brushes grouped together, should i create a  new category first & then while that category is 'open', add new brushes to it?

Apologies if this has been asked and answered somewhere before. I did some searching, but didn't find what I was looking for.

I see a transparent (checkerboard) border as soon as I tap ‘Apply’, but it didn’t work exactly as desired until I first made sure that the Anchor setting — accessed via the tiny white triangular pointer in the Context toolbar — was ‘Middle Centre’.

As I said, I followed exactly the instructions, including the "Anchor Point".

  4. As a new user, I'm also having issues with this task. "MEB", I've followed exactly the instructions in the 'Help' Menu of AP for iPad with regards to increasing the Canvas Size. Each time, with the purpose of creating a Border, no transparent 'border' appears around my image. When I try to add a new Colour Fill layer, that still doesn't 'fix' it I've tried three times without success. AP is v1.6.12.86

I can't see any step that I've missed, as your steps here reflect the instructions in the 'Help' Menu.

  5. Hi all,

I'm new to Affinity Photo, but not so new to photo editing, though I don't get anywhere near as much time for it as I would like.

I have a photo that has bright/white edges along dark objects that are in front of a bright sunset sky. These are 'straight line' edges that sometimes happen with dark objects against a bright background, but without the colour,  rather than a feathered, glow like edge which I believe are called "Halos". The file is a ".dng" as I used to use Lightroom up until a year ago ( I could find the original Camera Raw file if need be). There is no Purple or Green Fringing, but this may have been removed in Lightroom previously.

Can AP remove this for me, which I can't seem to do with my other editor? If so, how? Any videos that demonstrate this would be great. I've watched a couple of videos by James Ritson, but they are the photos used have the 'glowing' halo type of edges, so I'm not sure if the same technique would work.
