IPv6 reacted to Uwe367 in Thank you for supporting older Tablets
Thank you Affinity for supporting older Graphicablets and to choose an Option in Preferences that they work right. My old one works well again now. Thumbs up 👍

IPv6 reacted to adgr in Vector shape warp
We all do. This should have been in version 1.0. Unfortunately no word from Affinity developers as far as I know despite being asked for for years. It was on their "roadmap" in 2015...

IPv6 reacted to wax-lyrical in Gradient Mesh
+1 for this feature: I could really use a mesh or freeform gradient tool.

IPv6 reacted to firstdefence in Color Replacement not working properly
The Colour replacement tool should really be called the hue replacement tool as that is closer to what it actually does. Using white is a bit like desaturating the colour, that is why it was turning a shade of grey. To see this for yourself you can use the HSL filter, select the red colour dot and use the picker and click on the shirt, then drag the saturation shift to the left -100% and the shirt will turn the same grey as on the screenshot pic.

IPv6 reacted to Smee Again in Layer opacity vs. fill
One more great demo of the value of having a fill slider for color in addition to -- as opposed to just having -- the opacity slider.

IPv6 reacted to Frozen Death Knight in Will Affinity Team make an updates on brush customization?
One feature that has been confirmed for 1.9 when creating brushes is the ability to create brush textures from your canvas selection. That to me I am very much looking forward to, since the current workflow for creating custom brushes is very tedious to say the least. Other than that, we don't know much else if there will be more changes coming with the next major release.

IPv6 reacted to fde101 in Masking / Inverse Masking
Hi @sujithta, I'm not exactly sure what you are requesting here, and using overly large text in your post doesn't make it any easier to understand.
To create a mask from a pixel selection, you can choose Layer -> New Mask Layer, or click the Mask Layer button along the bottom of the Layers panel. If you have an existing mask layer and select it, you can use the brush tool (for example) to modify that mask, and it will be restricted to make changes within a pixel selection if you have one.
Option (alt) clicking on a layer (on the Mac at least) takes you into isolated editing mode for that layer, hiding the other layers while you are working on it. Shift clicking a mask layer toggles it on and off.
To invert the mask, select it in the Layers panel and choose Layer -> Invert (menu bar), or use the keyboard shortcut (Command+I on the Mac).

IPv6 reacted to Michail in Ctrl+Alt and the Select Range tool
I would like to express my great thanks to Serif. When adjusting the size and sharpness of the brush tip, you no longer have to fiddle with two mouse buttons.
The handling when adding and subtracting selections has also improved. Serif has fortunately moved away from the right mouse button.
But why doesn't Ctrl+Alt work with the Select Range tool (Magic Wand)?

IPv6 got a reaction from wheany in Liquify persona: add "smoothing" brush
Please, add another brush to liquify persona: mesh smoothing. It is already present in Photoshop and sometimes it is very handy

IPv6 got a reaction from Aftemplate in Add FX "Inner Glow"/"Outer Glow" as Live Filter
Please, make inner/outer glow as live filter. The very same as in Layer FX.
Sometimes there is a real need to add masking for this effect, whick is not possible with Layer FX without unnecessary nesting

IPv6 reacted to Chris B in No icons Flip Horizontal and Flip Vertical and Rotate in the top toolbar.
We would like to add these as options under 'Customise Toolbar' but not enable them by default. We will also make sure this is added to the documentation

IPv6 reacted to carl123 in Different file size? Filter -> Noise -> Denoise VS Live Filter Denoise
Even using the same settings, I think the live filter and the non-live version work slightly differently, hence the differences in file size (?)

IPv6 reacted to Mark Ingram in Affinity Photo Customer Beta (1.8.4.184)
I use the Windows key all the time, Win+E to launch Explorer, Win+1/2/3 to launch apps from the taskbar, Win+R for Run dialog, Win+Shift+S for the Snip tool. etc etc.
People have an expectation for how the Windows key behaves, and applications shouldn't override that expectation. Perhaps there could be a preference to enable it, but it could never be the default.

IPv6 reacted to Mark Ingram in Affinity Photo Customer Beta (1.8.4.184)
Because the Ctrl equivalent is right mouse button on Windows. So the shortcut would require holding RMB while you then click with RMB...
I wasn't aware of that feature until now, so we'll have to look at implementing a new shortcut on Windows.

Auto-update: Available
Hello,
We are pleased to announce the immediate availability of the second build of Affinity Photo 1.8.4 for macOS.
If this is your first time using a customer beta of an Affinity app, it’s worth noting that the beta will install as a separate app - alongside your store version. They will not interfere with each other at all and you can continue to use the store version for critical work without worry.
This beta is an incremental update to the 1.8.3 version recently released to all customers (though it installs parallel to the release, as described above). We recommend that you use this beta in preference to the store version if you are affected by any of the issues listed below.

Fixes
Changed brush parameter shortcut from Alt+RightMouseButton to Ctrl+Alt (same as macOS) Added --legacy-wintab command line parameter, which will use low-precision mouse input and tablet pressure data (the same as previous Affinity versions). This is only for users of old tablets that don't report valid high precision input (e.g. Wacom Graphire). 1.8.4.674 release notes
