So far 2.4 beta has resolved this problem pretty well! So glad to see this important bug fixed!

KipV reacted to Affinity Info Bot in Designer opens so that the toolbar is off screen. Can't access panels and toolbars.
The issue "[macOS] App Window Disappears after disconnecting and re-connecting an external monitor between app sessions" (REF: AF-417) has been fixed by the developers in internal build "2.4.0.2211".
This fix should soon be available as a customer beta and is planned for inclusion in the next customer release.
Customer beta builds are announced here and you can participate by following these instructions.
If you still experience this problem once you are using that build version (or later) please reply to this thread including @Serif Info Bot to notify us.

Can confirm that this is still an issue in Somona 14.1.2.
The worst bit is that even after closing and reopening the app, it remains stuck off screen.
I don't understand how this only happens with Affinity and no other apps I've ever used?

Thanks for letting me know - this issue is currently still unresolved by our team in both 2.2 & 2.3, though I'll be sure to update the development log, including this information now.
We're hoping to have this issue resolved ASAP, thanks for your continued patience and understanding here

KipV reacted to Ash in 2.3 New features and improvements list
    Hi All,
Below is the list of all new feature and improvements which are included in the 2.3 beta (bug fix list is available here).
To learn more about these features please click on the link to go to each feature's dedicated post. To give feedback or report bugs against any of these features please reply to that same post (also check out bug reporting and feedback tips).
    • Move Data Entry improvements
    • New tags panel for adding Alt Text to images and objects
    • Spiral Tool
    • Ability to change Asset Panel background colour
    • Fields now available in Find and Replace
    • Pixel grid added
    • "Keep selected" preference now available in Pencil Tool
    • Create and place password protected PDFs
I should say in general we are now aiming to do slightly smaller updates more regularly than before so we can test and release in smaller chunks. This will allow us to get improvements and fixes out quicker, as well as having overall benefit to the stability of the apps.
The beta phase will now be shorter (4-6 weeks) for any update, and for that reason we will be avoiding any significant changes to functionality during beta as we focus on fixing bugs and correcting unintentional behaviour. This does mean that more of your improvement suggestions may need to wait until a future update (e.g. like some of the Move Data Entry suggestions you made during 2.2 beta which have now been added to 2.3), but please keep those suggestions coming!
    Getting the 2.3 beta
If you have not enrolled into the beta program yet and would like to take part, you can do so here. This will immediately give you access to the latest 2.3 beta builds to try for yourself.
If you are already enrolled in the beta program you have two options:
    1. If you still have the 2.2 beta installed, you can now run up those beta versions and you will be prompted to update them to the 2.3 beta.
    2. If you have uninstalled the 2.2 beta, you will need to go back to Your Account -> Downloads and product keys and find your previous order for the Affinity Beta Software Program, and you can download the 2.3 beta from there.
    Thanks,
    Ash

    Hi All,
We have just made 2.2 live across all App Stores and our website. As always, the feedback we have received from you all during this beta has been an incredible help in both shaping the new features as well as squashing many bugs!
The build we have released is the same as RC3 (build 2005), meaning for the time being whether you use the latest beta version or switch to using the release version they are the same. If you anticipate taking part in the next beta you may wish to keep your current beta version installed, as this will be updated on auto update when a new beta is available. This will either be a 2.2 patch if we feel one is needed, or moving straight onto a 2.3 beta.
It would be impossible for us to do what we do without your support, and I just wanted to say a huge thanks for everything you have contributed to this release.
    All the best,
    Ash

This worked for me by making the toolbar clickable so I was able to drag it over to the studio display. Thankfully I didn't need the top part the window to show in order to drag it over like I do with many programs! That would have made things really difficult.

KipV reacted to Lorox in Leading seems super broken, often won't change when I try to set something different
You're absolutely right! Although I've been using Publisher for quite some time now, I actually stumbled over the very same problem you've described: I had copied some lines of text from an old IDML-document (which I had opened in Publisher) and – while everything else proved to be easily editable – just couldn't find a way to change the leading...
Seems like I, too, didn't remember that little "Leading Override“ setting which is (quite successfully, I'd say) hidden in the "Positioning and Transform" section of the "Character" palette... That being said I'm still not sure what "Leading Override" is supposed to mean or do differently than a Baseline shift on the Character level?
Can someone possibly give an example (preferably a visual one) illuminating the difference, e.g. when I should use a simple Baseline shift (which we all know of for ages) and when a Leading Override (which I never encountered anywhere except in the Affinity apps)?

KipV got a reaction from walt.farrell in Pre-flight reporting that I have missing fonts that I actually have.
Nice, that worked really well. I didn't see the "missing fonts" section the first time I went through the dialog. I thought that the "all fonts" section would also contain the missing fonts too. That is a pretty nice feature especially for basic documents like mine that don't really require a lot of character style set up.
  13. Thanks
KipV reacted to walt.farrell in Pre-flight reporting that I have missing fonts that I actually have.
You can click the cog icon for the Find field, and under Format you can find text with a particular font. You'll probably need to tell it you want to see Missing fonts.
Then you can click the cog icon for the Replace field, and under Format you can specify the font you want to use as the replacement.

KipV reacted to Ash in Go to previously viewed spread
    Apps: Publisher
    Platforms: All
There is now a new option to go to your previously viewed spread in Affinity Publisher. So, for example, if you are on page 30 and then go to page 400 to edit something, clicking on previously viewed spread will jump you back to page 30 (and hitting again will jump back to page 400 – so you can switch between the two pages quickly).
You can find this option in the Document menu (Previously Viewed Page) for which you could optionally set a keyboard shortcut for as well as using the new button with the rest of the page navigation options in the bottom left of the UI as highlighted with arrow below:

On the iPad version you can find this option at the bottom of the view menu:

KipV reacted to MikeTO in When exporting I can't type in a range of pages.
I duplicated it but the dialog's fields are sticky so I sometimes got different results. If the Pages field has focus when the dialog closes then I think it will work correctly for the rest of the session.
These steps might let you duplicate it.
test.afpub - this is a blank facing pages document with 56 pages
Open the test doc. Export - if it doesn't default to All Spreads or All Pages choose one of them, it doesn't matter which and then click Export (which is probably pointless but I did it for good measure), restart Publisher, open the doc, and choose Export again Click in or tab to the Pages field and type a page number or range, say 10 or 10-15, and press Tab - the field is blank for me and exporting at this point will ignore what was just typed If you don't export then cancel the dialog and re-open. If you cancelled while Pages had focus it will now work properly.

Sharpening, healing, denoising, upscaling, etc. -- Sure. Creating? No way. As long as AI is a tool to carry out my wishes, under my control, that's fine. When it starts "creating" by itself, no interest at all.

I would ask what you mean by AI. I’m sue the topic AI photo app and plugin to denoise and sharpen and it doesn’t destroy my creativity. AI art creation is another story to me, it might be fun to play with but in my testing of it it does nothing to help me create art as Westerwalder might agree with. So for me as aid to make some tools more powerful I am for it but not for much else. Some of the stuff Adobe is doing like using it to make graphic fonts is an interesting idea but I also have the feeling they would all look very similar very quickly.

KipV reacted to Ash in 2.1 GM Build (2.1.0.1799)
    Hi All,
An update to the beta has just been made available which we are expecting to be the build we release publicly very soon! This means you can update your beta version to be the same code as what we will be our initial public release of 2.1.
We will therefore now have a period where the latest beta version is the same as the release version. That will remain the case until we begin a fresh beta which will either be a patch to 2.1 if we feel it's needed, or hopefully moving straight to the first beta of 2.2. At that point you will be able to update the beta versions you currently have installed for that latest update to test.
During the period that 2.1.0.1799 is in sync with the release build (when 2.1 is made public) it's up to you if you want to continue to report any bugs in the beta forums or the main bug reporting forums.
I want to take this opportunity to thank you all so much for being so actively involved with the testing of 2.1 - along with all the new features and improvements we have got through a huge number of fixes, and that's only been possible with having so many of you putting it through it's paces. It's made a huge difference, and we're very much looking forward to working with you all on the next beta!
    All the best,
    Ash

This feature isn't yet available, is it?

There's also a problem with hiding and unveiling layers where the scroll bar covers the check boxes and you have to steady the mouse arrow before making your selections. It constantly throws a wrench in your work flow.
