dries reacted to Sean P in align to selection bounds ignores clipping mask
Hi dries
Thanks for letting us know - this is something we do have logged with development.

dries reacted to JimmyJack in Imported AI "Passthrough" group color effect?
So I think I know what's happening here, at least regarding color/blends.
The art is coming in looking as it should, but the group blending modes are being mislabled while retaining the correct effects.
They should be either Screen or Multiply as the case may be.
Switching to normal and back to Passthrough jogs AD's brain and results in the correct Passthrogh effect.
Switching to the other two retains the intended effect.
I had a similar issue a while back with different mode names not being honored.
(will have to look back to be more specific)
As far as the clips go... not sure, they could be junk in the .ai as well.

Hi dries,
There is a known issue with development that the grid can display incorrectly when the Display is set to OpenGL. Can you go to Preferences > Performance and switch Display from OpenGL to Metal. That should allow you to work around the issue in the meantime.

dries reacted to Old Bruce in Bug in align functionality makes objects dissapear
Absolutely something hinkey here. Only happens for me if I select with the (arrow) Move Tool and shift click on them. This bug will be related to your other hassle. Check your layers studio while doing this, I had the second object shoot out to the far right side where it had never been and it took two undoes to bring it back. Still Safari here.
I would say there is some underlying code getting or setting bad values when we undo after the "align them with 'alignment' options".
And sometimes it is just to the page boundary that it moves.

dries reacted to Paulie_CZ in Object styles suggestion
Hi, Publisher is awesome. Only thing i miss, is Object styles. Similar as paragraph and text styles. I often use pre-defined sizes of text frames, with linked paragraph and text styles. For example - i need to create several frames 10x6 cm with 0,8 cm margins on one A4 format list with 0,5 points border. It minimizes the time i spend with creating frames, and only thing i need is to fill them with text. I could copy and paste text frames and fill them with text, but it is not as elegant as using object styles.
Thank you for publisher anyway, its realy great. And I appologise for my english. :)

In fact, you can create a Text Frame, make it the size you want, with the borders you want, and even set the font and font size. Then create a new Asset from that frame, and you'll be able to drag it onto any page you want and the new one will have all those characteristics that you established.

But an object style could have interesting proprieties we can set and modify later. Modifying all the childs at the same time (a propriety can be to assign a Text style).
Assets are nice for fifferent parts of a drawing, but empty or already populated with text "text frame assets" wouldn't be as usefull. (And you can't reassign a style with assets.)

The styles of objects and the selector of styles, save much time in the designs with many pages and any change is instantaneous in all the objects of the style. This can not be done with Assets. Do you have plans to include them?
You are doing a great job!

Object styles would be very handy. Alternatively it would be nice if the 'color picker' is also a 'style picker' also matching fonts, strokes etc.

dries got a reaction from Aammppaa in Cloning objects: change cursor
Would be nice if the cursor gives you an idea of what you are doing. For example when cloning an object using CMD-button. That way you have an indication that you pressed the right shortcut or any shortcut at all.

dries got a reaction from stokerg in Will Affinity software benefit from a i7 processor? (instead of i5)
My apologies that I missed the previous conversations about this topic. I'll catch up with these.
Thanks a lot for the responses!
