RobLW reacted to akgreenberg in Show Clipped Highlights/Shadows/Tones request
I would like to know why the "Show Clipped Highlights, Clipped Shadows, and Clipped Tones is only available for RAW images? Can this feature be added to jpg/jpeg or other images types as well? In fact, can it also be incorporated into Affinity Photo for iPad too?
Thank you.

RobLW got a reaction from Paul Mudditt in iOS Photo review, critique, analysis
You may think it's unacceptable but it's entirely your own fault. Understand that your device has small memory. When you switch to other apps, iPadOS deals with what apps get to sit in memory and which need to be dropped to allow more space for the most recent app(s) you've been opening.
It is therefore up to you to understand the limitations of your own device, and adjust the settings for how regularly Affinity Photo saves your work.
Go into the settings icon, under General, change the autosave Interval to something lower.

RobLW reacted to Scott Williams in Five Ways to Sharpen with Affinity Photo
Here I explain 5 ways to sharpen with Affinity Photo. I have also included a macro for download to help with one of them.
I hope you find it useful.

RobLW reacted to konstantnnn in Please, I’m begging you, enable split-screen on iPad.
Photoshop, Fresco and Procreate already support splitscreen.

RobLW reacted to jnrfalcon in Please include Serif Raw Engine in iPad version
Not being able to use most of my raw files from Fuji cameras is frustrating. And waiting for Apple to add such support is even more so. Plus that there are functions exclusively available with Serif engine. And apparently it's possible since Lightroom and Photoshop on iPad do support all the unsupported lossless compressed raws from Fuji cameras.

RobLW reacted to Blende21 in Affinity Photo Workbook (iPad version in PDF?)
It is a BOOK, printed pages and a good feeling when turning them.
It comes along with download links for the files from the chapters, but there is no electronic version of the book itself.

RobLW reacted to wgphoto in Color Grading Tools
I currently use Capture One for basic RAW adjustments and most of my color grading. I then take a tiff into Affinity Photo for skin work and finishing touches. The biggest reason for doing color grading in Capture One is that it is very intuitive because of the fact that there is a color wheel for choosing colors as well as saturation for shadows, mid tones and highlights. It would be one more step away from Capture One if Affinity Photo added this. For selfish reasons I’d love it if the iPad version got it first since I almost never use the desktop version anymore.

in light of the feature being added to ACR/LR, I'll resurrect this request.

RobLW reacted to David Cartier in Please add an app extension for editing pictures from other apps
Could you add an iOS app extension? When we find an image in Apple Photos, or Files, or Dropbox, or Google Drive, or lots of others, an app extension would make it much easier and faster to switch to Affinity Photo and start editing it.

RobLW got a reaction from Alfred in No Share to Affinity?
This is great. thanks for sharing this post. Although does make me wonder why Serif hasn't fixed something that seem's so simple/little.

I believe this is still the case for everyone, but the iOS Shortcuts app offers a workaround:

You can also just copy the picture and then open a new project via clipboard. That’s how I always do it.

RobLW got a reaction from captain13chris in Affinity Photo Customer Beta (1.9.0.196)
Hello,
are you going to fix
1) When in affinity photo and you go to import from apple Photo, it only shows you albums. But it completely ignores the fact that I’ve organised all my albums into folders to make it organised, and doesn’t drive me insane to navigate and find my photos. Please make Affinity Photo for iPad RESPECT and use these folders.
2) When viewing photos in Apple Photo, there is no option to Share To affinity Photo. Basically there is absolutely no decent DAM on iPad what so ever. Zero, none. And so the closest thing I have is to use Apple Photo. From there you should be able to just share the raw file from Apple Photo straight into Affinity Photo, which you then save on to your drive/cloud.
These are two very basic needs and should be there from day one. What would be a real winner, is to develop a half-decent DAM (independent of Affinity Photo) which also supports viewing folders(and subfolders) of photos even on external hard drives. Think “FastRawViewer” but for iPad.

RobLW reacted to okulo in Additional import options
I just purchased Affinity Photo and ran into problems straight away.
Firstly, I wanted to open one of my own photos in my Photo library taken a few years ago, so finding it with the current import options was very time consuming, I had to scroll through literally thousands of photos to find it. There does not seem to be an option to go to a particular year or album as one can in Photos.
Secondly, I wanted to use a photo from a Google image search but I could not find a way to download the image to my iPad in such a way that I could open it in Affinity Photo. Could the option to import from URL or Files (as in the iPad app) be added, please?
Thank you.
