I chose three images (.tiff) to place and Publisher crashed. There was nothing in the document other than one page. Then it happened after choosing three jpegs to place in three Picture Frames. More than one place image images will crash it. Each times it crashed as soon as I clicked the open button in the dialog. Here are the logs:

Not that I would recommend it for anyone else, but I took the leap and discontinued my Adobe subscription already. Using Publisher daily and it hasn't let me down yet!

Just wanted to share a happy accident I had while playing with the new arrow ends. An Inner Circle on the bottom and Triangle Tail on the top, slid to the proper proportions, makes a beautiful dress!

And span columns isn't just useful for headings. They can also be used for pull-quotes and more.

Walt, I think he meant having, for example, titles span across columns inside the multi-column text frame. I.e. having body text flowing in two columns but subheaders flow over the gap and the second column. This was included in Indesign some years back, and it's an ACE feature, especially when making books or ebooks, as then you can have your text flow automatically through the whole frickin' book and just have one master text frame on each page. The amount of the paragraph's column span (1, 2, 3, or all columns) is defined in the Paragraph style. This is a real power feature that I'm really looking forward to seeing in Publisher.
Thanks for the new version, looking forward to the one with Finnish hyphenation included  We can hacksaw it in, but native would be nice. The library is Public domain, after all.

Still hoping for the option to have paragraphs span across columns without having to create a separate text box, with all the text wrap settings and all. The ability to do this is about the only thing keeping me with InDesign.

Thanks everybody for clarifying this ...
Just a little suggestion to serif from my side: Since the transformation panel supports absolut and percentage values it would be no hassle to make a difference between entering absolut values for width and hight (300mm original value, duplicate, 290mm new value and CMD/CTRL J each time reduces by these 10mm difference) or relative values (300mm original value, duplicate, "w=w*0,95" "h=h*0,95" or "0.95%" and CMD/CTRL J reduces by a relative value). Even better would be the option to change the radius as a separate parameter to the transform panel ...  instead of each time changing width and hight.

    Just my 2 cents ...

@Sean P I am on 1.7.0.4, however your Reset Studio tip worked! It must have been picking up something from the prior installation that was fixed by the Reset. It's working now! Thank you

I use them all the time for annual publications like calendars, Church Liturgical Calendars, etc. inDesign has them, Microsoft Word has them.
I don't want to create different Paragraph Styles for facing pages that differ only in left or right alignment. This really should be part of our toolbox in Publisher.

Very important feature, +1 for it to be implemented!
There are many situations in which it is necessary to split part of a text frame into 2 columns, or to span a 2 column layout periodically with a single heading.
    Both are needed

If text is selected which has paragraph style overrides, I agree.
If no text is selected, it should default to no styling. And ideally, all the character style formatting fields should be blank, not 'No change'. (No change from what? The default styling? The applied paragraph style?)

    Hi ffca
Thanks for this I have passed it on to the development. We do have a longstanding issue with unprofiled jpgs so this may be an off shoot of that issue as it affects our curently released products too
    thanks
