Just got ahold of the Beta and had my first foray into it. On the whole I think Adobe should be sweating bullets. Its different enough to make me curious and still familiar enough that I can navigate my way around some basic things without pulling my hair out.
The develop mode for RAW files needs some serious refinement in my opinion. I don't want to have to scroll down everytime I open say white balance. It should expand on its own when I click on it and automagically move the relevant sliders into my view. If that's already an adjustable UI item, it shoudl be the default.
Also needs a white balance picker integrated into the whitebalance panel, I didn't see one. I think you should move the shadows and highlights adjustment into the exposure panel.
I don't see the point of having a blemish removal tool in the develop mode, in this mode all I care about is adjusting exposure, clarity, applying lens corrections that sort of thing. I can leave develop mode to do this and if the info is still accurate I can go back to develop mode anytime I want in the final release. If your going to keep the blemish removal tool here then I think it should update instantly not wait till I apply all of them at once, perhaps its a bug. On the other hand if I can adjust everything in the photo persona that I can adjust in the develop persona then what's the point of having two separate personas here?
I see that in the photo persona for instance there are some presets for white balance that aren't in the develop persona. There is the obvious white balance picker tool I was looking for as well. Mind you I haven't been using this long but so far the develop persona seems redundant and pointless. Perhaps I will fathom the reason as I progress.
Still I think a good beta on the whole. Just a few things I noticed and have questions about. There is much that is familiar to me and I would LOVE if I could walk away from Adobe and their ridiculous subscription service. Its a rip off and until now they have had the market cornered. Keep up the good work folks!
