  1. Hello FortunePS, First of all Welcome to this forum. Yes you can. It will be a combination of batch processing (Main Menu, File, New Batch Job) and a macro to do the actual resize canvas. The batch job allows you to specify the images to be processed and the way the result should be saved (as a .aphoto, a .jpeg, and other formats, as well as a location (folder) where the resulting files should go). But first some questions: What are the original files: JPEG, APHOTO or other? 162 * 162 what? Pixels, millimeters, inches ?
  2. Cees, Just some ideas. Could you please specify the Plugin Search Folders complete path. In my Windows installation that will be "c:\Program Files\Affinity\plugins\DxO" . And yes I'm know that the MAC OS, which is Unix based, does not have the concept of 'drive letters'. Could you check with finder or a terminal that the plugins are actually THERE?
  3. Helllo Cees, Which instructions did you follow? I found these: https://support.dxo.com/hc/en-us/articles/360040284711-How-to-launch-Nik-Collection-2-5-by-DxO-plugins-from-Affinity-Photo-1-8-or-higher- EDIT: Just installed the trail version on Windows 10, AP 1.8.4 and it works for me....
  4. Is the first PDF file open in Acrobat Reader or another PDF program? If so, that file is locked and you cannot replace it.
  5. Hello George, A few questions: 1. Can you save the same document (file) to your local hard disk? 2. Can you copy that local file to the NAS using Windows explorer / MAC Finder ? BTW: errno = 5 (in Windows) means 'access is denied'
  6. AFAIK Affinity Photo does not have a Symmetry tool. Are you refering to Affinity Designer (contrary to the title of your initial post I mean)
  7. Hello Peter, Welcome here in this forum. How far do you get? Exporting to a different format than the (default) .afphoto is done by using the Main Menu, File, Export. In that case you should see this window:
  8. Just out of curiosity I checked my gear. After presisng Ctrl-8 the measurement is 100% okay. Please don't mind the unsharpness. No tripod 🙂
  9. I see you posted a crash report. Hopefully Serrif Support can help you further...
  10. The article MEB pointed to did work for me, however. Did you close and re-open Affinity Photo after changing Left-handed/Right-handed?
  11. You do not have to wait for a Serrif update per se, It is more a matter of waiting for the lensfun people when they add the new camera to their database,. See also this video for more information: https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/tutorials/photo/desktop/video/330446061/
  12. Revealing hidden directories. One small step forward. The log file you show me above looks waht I get when launching the application. So far so good. My next step would be to have a look in Task Manager wether photo.exe is still a process or has dissapeared. When I have a look at Task Manager (after launching Affinity Photo) I see it in the collection of Apps. See screen shot below: When Affinity Photo disappears from your screen, is the process still there or not?
  13. Ahhh... AppData is a so called hidden directory. You can show hidden directories (and files for that matter) by clicking the View menu item in the Windows Explorer window as you showed me. Then check 'Hidden Items' and Appdata will show up in the list of folders.
  14. @walt I just had a look at the lensfun database but the R5 is not yet there...
  15. Hmmm... a more drastic approach might be needed. Plz type services in the cortana search bar (besides the Start button icon left below) . Start the Services desktop app. Click on the Name column to sort by Name. Scroll down to Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service Right click, Properties, Startup Type, Disabled, Apply. Reboot windows. Any effect ???
  16. I'm not sure I understand you question. Do you mean an image with a white or transparent border that should be removed? Or the cleanup needed when 'straighten' an image with the crop tool (which will result in tranparent pieces at the borders). Could you upload a sample image to this thread..
  17. My first approach would be to select the main object (that should not be turned into black), refine the selection, invert the selection and use the paint bucket to fill with solid black.
