When I try to import SVG files, sometimes I get weird results.
Just try it by your own with this example from Wiki (chess board).
You need to add a "g" to the end of the URL. I had to remove it because otherwise the SVG would have been embedded in my post.https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d5/Chess_Board.sv

Something strange is going on.
It doesn't matter if I embed the Develop Settings on directly into a Pixel Layer or leave that linked via RAW. As soon as I click "Develop" and the process is complete, the sharp image suddenly becomes blurry (at about 30% size). If I stay at 100% the whole time I don't see any difference after finishing. I.e. the sharpness is in.It seems that at 30% I get more sharpness displayed than really is. But that should not be the case.

Hello!
I am facing a very big problem.
I can't develop Canon .cr2 images correctly since V2.After I set the Details settings,

they are lost after clicking on "Develop".
The ticks are removed. I also see this because the image then becomes blurry after "developing".
Going back to "Develop", I see that the ticks are not set aynmore:
This is a mega disaster!!!
I need a hot fix! -

For translated versions of documents, it would be good to be able to export the text from a Publisher document into a format suitable for language translation tools (CAT tools) like Trados etc.
And then be able to import the translated text, replacing the original text. Then all you need is a tidy-up of the translated text, instead of a long, error-prone copy+paste job.InDesign accomplishes this via IDML, and the CAT tools enable professional translators to see only the text content (stories and index terms/footnotes etc) for translation purposes. So I imagine some kind of XML output would be handy from a developer point of view, and XML may well aid other forms of data interchange too.
Excited to see how things develop.
All the best,

Hi!
I was wondering why there is still no way in Publisher to export the texts in a form that can be read by professional translation tools (e.g. Trados) and then import them back. Usually documents need to be created in multiple languages. You want to do the work for the design etc. only once and only exchange the texts from one language to another.
Will there be something in the future?

Hi,
In V2, when I randomly click on the layers, the canvas is zoomed in or zoomed out. I don't want this to happen. Is this a bug?

Hi @JeffreyWalther,
Adjustment Presets are saved within the 'Adjustment' panel. Within the Panel, click onto the specified adjustment and the saved preset will be listed along with the app defaults.

Thx. Quite hidden, isn't it?

I can "Add Presets".... but where can I recall them? 🥴

Go to View > Assistant Manager, there is a setting for masks.
Thank you very much! 😀

Hello,
I'm pretty sure that when I created a new mask layer while another layer was selected, the mask was always under the selected layer.
After I accidentally reset the settings, the mask layer is always created as a new layer above the selected layer. I have not found any settings to change this back. Does anyone have any ideas as to what happened?

It is not my job to manually edit the system's registry due of a missing, simple option which could be implemented in minutes (place the checkbox control to the GUI, add a boolean variable therefor, save the value and ask for it on startup- done!). Really, this a feature which could be implemented by programming beginners.
Again, I am asking for an official solution. Thank you.

You noticed by forwarding me to Google, that there is still no official solution? At least for Windows.

Hello,
I wish there was a way to disable this dialog.
For now, I'm sticking with V1.9, which I believe is the last stable version. So there is no need to remind me to update every time.

Thank you.

Hello Affinity,
It's a bit difficult to describe in a reproducible way, but since version 1.9.1 up to the latest version there were sudden crashes without reasons when editing Canon Raw 2 files.
I don't know what was changed in your source code, but it seems to me that the memory management was changed and the cause should be found here.
My computer has decent performance and also with 64 GB enough RAM for a few pictures. I will therefore return to V1.9 for the time being.
Remarks: No, I do not use 3rd party plug ins. Just Photo with disabled GPU acceleration.

I think it would be good to add an option on export SVG.

obviously there are not enough requests for it, otherwise this standard feature would have been built in already, right?

In Designer, it's a pity that you still can't just perspectively distort a single object (converted curve) or a whole group with a simple corner pin tool.

I noticed you are on the latest nVidia drivers (471.41) those drivers were giving me problems so I reverted to a few revisions back and all my problems disappeared. You may want to try an different driver, newest isn't always the best!
This is my video edit workstation and the system with my video editor is well tuned. I think it is more a memory management issue inside Photo (as it always was). Because I can edit 4K footage (RAW) with much more and higher demanding effect and color, non-destructive processing without a problem. And video is really demanding. Editing photos with some 15-20 layers is a just a joke compared to it – or at least it should be.

I hoped that the new 1.10 will work, but no - it also crashes just after executing it. So I must now again uninstall it and install a version 1.9.1. What a pain in a ass...
Just in case I haven't tried Designer and Publisher, as I need them in working condition and I don't want uninstall and install them again.
And please, oh please! Please do something with program starting font loading. It is not normal that your Affinity family will start more than two minutes! It's a big JOKE. Yes - I have hundreds of fonts installed, but Corel, Xara and even yours old Serif family will start with few certain seconds. One time more - PLEASE, if you have at least little bit respect about your customers...Windows 7 is a very outdated operating system whose last feature update was in 2015. You can't seriously expect this to be supported by any software company anymore.

Designer cannot open PDF files containing embedded fonts correctly

This is not a bug.
The PDF file should contain all the text as curves. The creator of the PDF needs to export it properly.
This is a rule of sorts.
If you leave the text as it is, chances are that fonts are missing on the target system (except for common fonts like Arial).
