@MEB I got it to work.. what I did was to click buy again but cancel before confirmation of buying and then I got the option to register the app to my account. This was Designer on macOS. I had to do the same process for Affinity Photo on macOS. When opening Designer on the iPad I had to do the same process again.. but when I opened Photo on the iPad I got directly to the page to register the app to my account. 🙂
it’s all working fine here now, and I can’t wait to start to get used to the new UI and tools..
Thanks a lot for support and help! 🙂 I’m writing on a spotlight interview with you guys so I hope I will get used to V2 quick and talk a little about that too..

@MEB 🙂 Any good solutions on the way?
I could try to buy again, but I see there are various results.. would it be silly to start a trial while waiting? Or better wait for a final working result? It’s not super urgent as I have survived with V1 for a few years, as long as I can continue with V1 documents in V2 later on.. 🙂

@MEB I tried that earlier and now I can’t remember if I got an error saying wrong login info or… but it didn’t work. Anyway, now I’m in bed and the computer shut off for an early flight in just some hours, but as soon as I get a chance I’ll try again and post the screenshot and we continue from there.

@MEB I guess you're not here this late, but would I mess something up if I start a trial? Not sure if that would work either if I have to log in or create a new log in and make more mess.. I haven't dared to try yet.. it´s just that I have a long flight early tomorrow morning and it would be fun to spend some time to play around with V2 and get to know it a little.. but if that could mess up my future log in, I´ll wait for a solution 🙂

@chrisF and @geertdecang As moderator MEB said, they´re working on a solution and will get back, I´m sure as soon as they can 🙂 so I guess we just have to wait. But again, the customer service in Affinity is awesome, so I´m not worried and V1 still works fine.. 🙂

It seems somehow that Affinity doesn't launch fully? I´m on a 2021 MacBook M1 Pro, 16 GB RAM, Ventura I took a screen video.. same happens with Affinity Photo. And on 2021 iPad Pro 12,9 512 GB this purchase screen is all I can see too..

Maybe I´m totally out (which might be the case), or 🙂 .. because when opening Designer V2 after downloading from Apple Store was what I got. and it was from this window I purchased the V2 license.. I can not see any account button. Just after I got the confirmation from Apple that I bought the V2 license.
Now I have restarted the Mac, clicked the Designer V2 again and this is all I see.. still. I can not see any account button..
Same on iPad, when I try to restore purchase, this is what I get.. (see photo) on Mac, I can not even click restore purchase.

Hmm, I´m not sure I understand.. I already have an Affinity Account that I used to log in with my Affinity V1 apps both on MacOS and iPadOS, bought from Apple Store. Now I was downloading the new apps from Apple store and did an in app Universal purchase on my Mac from the Apple store.. but my previous Affinity accounts I used to log in with my previous Affinity apps does not work in V2.
I also got the email from Apple saying I was puchasing the in app V2 license.
I just tried to sign out and sign in with the V1 apps and that works fine, but not V2

I downloaded on MacOS and iPadOS and purchased the universal V2 license.. but when I have to log in it says activation unsuccessful?
What to do now?

Hi all, I made a simple design for my wife´s office.. and in Affinity Designer I used a font named "! Beirut"
I converted the type to curves so they should be able to print it, but for some reason they want the font too.. but when I search in "Font Book" I can´t find the font.. the Beirut font that shows up looks way different..
Is there is a way to find the font "! Beirut" on the computer or is that a hidden system font or something like that.. I have tried to google it but only finds other Beirut fonts.

I love the dark mode, but it’s quite hard to see when it’s sunny and I’m sitting on the terrace.. and we have about 300 sunny days a year so a light mode would be great! 🙂

Hi all, I´m a little out of AD as I havent been able to use for a while, but I´m back.. and I have a question 🙂
I have drawn an object in pixel persona in white.. is there any way to re color that object in an easy way, like it is in Procreate, where I can use alpha lock and then just recolor.
Any sugestions? I´m asking because I´m drawing most in black and white and would like to choose the exact colors after..

No I’m sorry it’s not.. I made a pair I use my self in assets but never got around to really finish due to too many other projects.. would love to do it but struggle to find the time these days..

It´s actually a "lot" easier to engrave real object by hand than trying to make the designs fit a laser engraver..
Here a couple of he last things I hand engraved 🙂

Corel sounds interesting to try, but the thing is I do most of this kind of scrollwork on the ipad and AD there with the Apple Pencil, and I have never ever used an app where the workflow is that good as AD on the iPad 🙂 It´s really mindblowing.. so I dont really have much options. To do this kind of vector lines with all the shadowing etc would just take too much time on the desktop.
I could test Corel to clean up after though, but I really want to try to find a solution without adding another program.
I dont do laser at all, I´m actually a hand engraver, but I do a lot of comission designs for laser engravers. For some laser engravers which has a lot of experience and great machines the work usually go seamless, but for others it´s just too much hassle.. 🙂
If there is a demo version of Corel I could check out how it cleans up after, but if it is another expence I just have to find a way.. 🙂

Yes it just distorted the design too much.. as it is a quite complex design. Illustrator removed quite a lot of nodes too, but dint distort the design a lot, just a little bit.
I tried both ways in Inkscape, but with the effect, it didnt really remove much nodes to keep the design usable. 🙂

Tried to simplify the nodes with Illustrator and Inkscape today.. For me illustrator made a quite good job but changed the design a tiny bit so would take some time to clean that up.
With inkscape it cleaned up pretty well to but after the design was totally useless.. would take more time to clean up than trying to make a new.. so in my case, inkscape was really useless.. and it was my impression from many years ago.

So far I really love the V2 version of Designer on the iPad, but I really do miss that trash can/delete button down in the left corner.. I know I can long press and find delete in a pop up menu, but still I used that a lot when cleaning up nodes for the way I work so it´s a lot faster for me to have it visible all the time..
Or is there another way to find/get a delete button somewhere in the user interface always visible as I use it a lot? I would prefer not to long press to get up another pop upmenu, but to have it right there when needed? 🙂
If not, please put it back.. Other than that, fantastic so far! 🙂
