Is there a way to enable using DNG files loaded into Affinity Photo to be opened in Lightroom?

I'm having trouble getting my pc files that were originally processed in Lightroom and PS Elements to import into Affinity. Apple says they cannot help me. I really need to get to work on some of these images and can only get them into Lightroom. However, If I open in LR and edit in Affinity and then try to save from Affinity I get an error message: "Save failed. Access was denied." What am I missing?
