rafaelh_us reacted to GarryP in How to round four corner of a placed image on Designer and Photo?
An alternative to the method above – in Designer only – is to select the placed image, use Convert To Curves, select all four corners of the shape (or whichever corners you want to make rounded), and then use the Corner Tool.
See attached video.

rafaelh_us reacted to mjbennetts in File management:What are you using?
It's not a DAM but, I use FastRawViewer with AP; just set AP as an external editor. It's not very expensive and I think you'll find it very useful in your workflow on Mac or PC.

rafaelh_us reacted to MEB in Copy / Paste Layer Effects
Hi Dams,
You can do that already. Just copy (ctrl+c) the object with the style/effects you want and then go to Edit -> Paste Style or press shift+cmd+v
All the effects applied to the source object will be copied over to the new object.

Thanks MEB. More than happy to share my work while I still fiddle around with various techniques. Last two days I was playing around with AP's native blend mode instead of the cumbersome luminosity masks. Was a bit counter-intuitive at first but once you get the hang of it, it produces stellar results. I'll stick to them for a while
Background story here on my FB page.

This one was nice to work on. A good quality photo helps a lot!

I prefer to work on photo's from my own collection. Like this one. I own the original negative, it was taken over 100 years ago somewhere in France.

Here's one of an ongoing serie about the liberation of the city Hengelo (NL). It shows Lt. Gaiger with crew who's tank survived an attack with 3 Panzerfausts.

Thx all. The following one was my first colouring ever. It took me days, not only spent time learning how to colour in the first place, but the hardest part was translating all that into new software. I saw all the official AP tutorial video's on Vimeo. I can do now 4 or 5, depending on complexity, in the same time. And not having fine tuned my workflow yet, there is room to speed it up even further.

Hi. Looong time Photoshop user here, my first PS came on floppy's. I still use Adobe professionally at work but I wanted a cheaper photo editor at home. An alternative who isn't bogged down with options I never use / touch. So Affinity it was! Black and white colorization was on my bucket list for a long time. So I used it to learn Affinity Photo. Learning new techniques along with new software is generally not a good idea. But AP passed on all fronts. I like it so much I even use it as my personal photo editor.
I'll update this thread from time to time if it's appreciated.

Not too sure why I did this, it just grabbed me as a good idea.

rafaelh_us reacted to MattP in PLEASE READ THIS: Sharing Guidelines
We've had a query about what is viewed as 'acceptable' content, and what our stance on it is.
This topic is one which is typically fairly volatile because everyone is so different and what is acceptable for one person, can be shocking or inflammatory to another. We don't want everyone to feel cautious about what they click, just in case they are faced with something they'd rather not see, but we also don't want to discourage people from sharing the amazing work they've been creating, so... We think the simplest, clearest thing to do is:
If you think your image could in any way be described as controversial...
- Start a new topic with an appropriate title
- Upload your image to a sharing site (Flickr, Behance, Instagram, etc) - you can even use the 'Share' link in the app's File menu
- Write a proper description of your work in the body of your post and add a text link to the image you have shared
Now, if people think they'd be offended, they just don't have to click the link and they won't see it at all.
Thanks,
Matt
